Bein' good and not doing beerlunch. Sigh. What a boring existence.

You're letting us all down.

Edit: my spelling is letting me down.

Haha... just had to smile at this thought.

Anyone else wondering how depressing @1977Brewer 's next Modelo post is going to be after getting all this beer?

Wow, that's depressing.

I'm about to head to a ****show of a meeting. It could get ugly, but hopefully it will be fun to watch.

Clearly you have never experienced bacon jam :fro:

Have not found a good one. All the ones I have tried at food/beer/wine festivals were a pinch of bacon. Just false advertising.

Found a good toffee maker that had bacon (sadly may not be made again since it did not sell well) and espresso flavors though. :rockin:

This is a local company that is becoming more and more known. Its the real McCoy. Fantastic with just about anything.

Unrelated. My copy of Beowulf arrived today I think. It's in the lineup after my current book.

Can't wait to hear what ya think.

Just entered the keg giveaway.

Couldn't really give a hoot about a recipe kit so just picked a RIS with the biggest grain-bill.

Solid first prize.

I was going to go the hops direction... you know, ask for skeezerpleezer's zombie dust clone for the close to 1# of Citra, but went with the RIS as well.

I figure, it's been in my sig line as my next brew for 6 months and I've just brewed a bunch of IPAs and a Porter and crap instead... that might actually make me do it.

Also, really bored today. Very slow.

Any friendly friends play chess at all?

It's no slotcartalk.com but chesscube.com is a good site.

I've never explored stream fishing. Other than our pond and small local lakes, only place I've really gone has been Malartic, Quebec for Northerns.

:what:
Good god man, I need to take you out next month. There's even a good spot off main St in Williamsville that stocks rainbows. Good place to hide from the cops and pound beers while trying to catch some fish.

Huh. I'm looking at Walgreens' website, and NONE of the locations in my region carry it anymore. :( I can't imagine why. I would assume the stuff was literally flying off the shelves.

Tell you what gothjockey, I'll take you up on your offer, but let's streamline things a bit. If you send a Big Flats to Brewer on my behalf, I'll send you the dunkosaurii he asked for.

Edit: thisisnotajokeiamdeadlyserious

I was in Walgreens yesterday and saw Big Flats, so it's still around.

I'm ok at chessing... but never get to play since no one wants to play ever and I have about a million other board games I'd rather break out if someone is down to game.

I played some online, but quickly tired of it.

Gavin's next question: "Ok then gents, anyone play polo regularly?"

WUG black ipa recipe?

I have a hard time finding ones I enjoy. Ones that use just some roast at mashout for color only? Eh. Ones that have too much roast/crystal and turn into an overhopped porter? Eh. Real golidlocks situation. Have only tried brewing one but it was like 4 years ago. Was just OK.

Thanks ordered a jar!

Is is bad that I can rely on members here making more reliable recommendations for other topics not beer related?

:mug:

not at all! If it wasn't for these fine folks I never would of discovered deodorant. I look forward to your review. The few people on the thread that have had it loved it.

Bespoke normally has a booth at the upcoming Philly Craft beer Festival. I don't see them listed, but I'm hoping they make it. Last year they were grilling up the bacon and serving samples, showing how they made it. It was pretty sharp. I did see a few chocolate companies coming along with 2 different Jerky vendors. My lust for food should be sated for a few hours, I think :ban:

I was hoping some of the clips I made for the video game thread would encourage Gav to get a PS4 so I had someone to play with, could you imagine?
"Mornin gents! Prepare thine noobish diddly-holes for a right good throddlin, na im sayn? Wtfunk 360 no gun scope get you somes."

I have no friends :(

Even an ocasional player would suffice. So long as your horse is a confident swimmer I don't mind.

Never really understood the addition for color only thing.

If that's all you want why not brew a not-black beer of the same type.

Also the eliminated control on mash pH but subsequent impact on kettle pH bothers me, I know not why. In short if making a black IPA I'd use some carafa/midnight wheat for the whole mash. Minimal to no roastyness, desired color and good pH control to boot.

Just sitting in my office going over some paperwork when a couple of firemen come into my office..."we need to know who your property insurance carrier is". I just stared at them like they were crazy..."for what?"

"Well, because we always take down that information when we respond to a building fire."

"You responded to a building fire here?!?!"

They started laughing. Apparently we were on fire, someone called 911, fire trucks rolled into our parking lot, they extinguished the fire...all without me noticing...
