I'm definitely going to buy some but unlikely to stock up like I did last year unless the price on regular/barleywine is about the same per ounce (which I'm not counting on).

I guess but it's still basically the same beer. I'd say they changed the name just so it's consistent with the rest of the lineup more than anything else.

Essentially same beer, but different hype = different price tags. I wouldn't be surprised with a King Henry next year.

All in all this is a win for variants in terms of availability, but a loss for regular BCBS. GI went that extra step when they didn't have to.

In reality this is a move so they can stretch distribution of the variants to Guam and Samoa. There won't be more in established distribution.

The El Paso, TX market would be a huge breakthrough for 14% bourbon barrel stouts. If they get it done at the expense of keeping more in the Chicagoland market, so be it.
