So, I've got an extra packet of Saflager W-34/70 yeast (it's a long story), and I don't know what I'm going to do with it. What beers would be appropriate? Also, I don't have a refrigeration setup for lagers yet, so is it possible to use this yeast for a California Common or other warm-fermenting beer? Would it work with a swamp cooler setup? Has anyone had any success with something like this? Thanks.

I'd say do a German lager; Octoberfest, Bock or Dopplebock.

If you can't do the lagers do a Dampfbier. Its the German version of a steam beer. Dampfbier

I would suggest a Vienna lager or a Helles (Dampf-style) or do the other styles slightly warm, which will still turn out good. You don't want to use it for competition since it will be exactly to style.

This German beer site rocks!!! :rockin:German Beer Styles
