    Rebel IPA

Yep. I usually defend Sam Adams, this sums up my thoughts on this line.

    Brooklyn hops

I love that Garrett Oliver is one of the four commenters on that page.

    Old Schlitz ad circa 1920

It must be advertising non-alcoholic Schlitz, which because of prohibition, was the only version available so there was no need to clarify in the ad.

Why do newbies always use so much crystal malt?

I don't think I put way too much crystal malt in my beers early on, I just always put some in every beer, usually as the only specialty malt unless it was a dark beer. I started as an extract brewer and I'm pretty sure that is why. It is easy to get flavor out of crystal malt without mashing...

    German IPA

I agree that the old school Noble Hops won't work well for an IPA, but there a lot of cool new German hops that I've been wanting to play more with. That Stone beer was great, these new varieties can definitely work in an IPA.

    Beer and Brewing Magazines

Thanks. BYO is the frontrunner right now. Anyone else have suggestions?

    Beer and Brewing Magazines

I got a subscription to Draft last year because it was $5 on Amazon. I like the magazine, but they pretty much post the whole thing online and it will be much more expensive to re-up. I've gotten used to getting a beer magazine, though and would like to get another one for 2016. One magazine...

    "Your Brewery" Facebook Page

Not a Facebook page, but I do have a blog. I updated it every day for about ten months last year to catch up on all of my previous batches… and then promptly fell behind within a couple months of catching up. I made a new post last week for the first time in months and am hoping to get back on...

Going to Ithaca, New York… what beer spots do I need to hit?

I should have posted this a couple weeks ago, but now I'm finally getting around to it. My girlfriend and I are going camping in Ithaca tomorrow. We are already planning to go to Ithaca Beer Co. and I think Hopshire Farm and Brewery looks like a cool place to visit but there are a bunch of...

    American Red?

That sounds like a lot of Special B to me. I think it will be awful dark and raisin-y for a red ale. I've never used carared.

I feel like most of you just ignored this great post…

    Best Commercial Pumpkin Beer

Braaaiins! from Spring House Brewing is the only one I really like. I haven't had Pumpking but I've heard that they're similar. I hope to try that one this year. I have a bottle of Tröegs' Master of Pumpkins from last year. I didn't plan to age it initially, but I didn't get to it before...

Which dry yeast to use with an English IPA and a Mild ?

I really like Windsor. Everyone else seems to prefer S04, but I'm not crazy about that. Just have to try them both and see what your preference is. Neither will ruin your beer.

    BIAB SMaSH IPA

Your mashing plan sounds pretty good but I'd add a whole lot more hops at flameout and/or for dry hopping.
