AAW 180 RPM 1/2 HP - Cold Starting?

I have the MM-2 Pro mill and the AAW motor. Absolutely no issues at all in filling the hopper and starting the motor. It does not even hesitate. The AAW motor has a ton of torque. I htink this thing would grind rocks if you put them in the hopper. Awesome set up.

Looking to buy first Grain Mill

I have the MM-2 pro with the All American Ale Works motor. Awesome combo. I could not be happier. I think this thing would grind rocks if you put them in th hopper. Once I got the gap set, it gives a great grind. Here is some mill porn for you.

Anyone else still waiting for their AAW motors?

Sorry for the late reply. I would have to measure my top to tell you for sure. Probably not big enough to include the scale on the same top. The bins are called Vittles Vaults. Available at pet stores. They work great

    Cooking with high fusel beer?

seveal years agao I brewed a Dark Belgian and fermented it way to hot. Terrible fusels. It was undrinkable. Good flavor otherwise so I have been using it up for cooking. I make a great braised duck legs and thigs with leeks and dried cherries and use the Belgian brew for the braising liquid. IT...

    Saison not Carbing

A little more info could be helpful. Which primary yeast? OG and FG? How long was it fermented for? I do saisons with brett quite often and do not have any problem with them carbing. I usually do the primary fermentation, thenwhen that is basicslly done, I rack to a sexondary and add brett. Let...

    MM-2Pro vs MillMaster mills

I built it using melamine board and iron on edge banding. Designed it so the cabinet side has a shelf in it so a bucket sits almost flush with the top. Really keeps the dust down. The other side holds the two vittles vaults for a couple of the grains I use most often.

    Brett Saison Timing

I add brett to a lot of my saisons. I usually just let the yeast finish up and then transfer and add the brett. Brett does not need fermentable sugars to work. Give the brett plenty of time to work. I usually go about 4 months. then bottle. IF you are going to dry hop I would domthta a few days...

    Too cold pitching yeast?

Cold won't kill your yeast. Once things warm up it will start. Think about it. Where do we store our yeast? In the fridge, right? Guess what? It does not kill the yeast. You are good.
