Actually just recently moved from Islip (down the street from where Arbor wine used to be) to Seaford. Looks like you guys in Suffolk have all the good clubs out that way though!
Ah, I still miss Arbor. You have Homebrew and Handgrenades in Nassau - nice people (those who I’ve met) and they are pretty active.Actually just recently moved from Islip (down the street from where Arbor wine used to be) to Seaford. Yes, the HBH LHBS closed but the club is still going. Another shop in western Suffolk (not far from blackforest) is brewsbrothers at kedco. No liquid yeast, there but enough stock to help out in a pinch. If you ever travel to Patchogue, there is Brew and Beyond in East Patchogue. He carries Imperial and Omega yeast and is well stocked.
Anyone other than myself entering national? Or planning to go to AHA convention in Nashville?
You have many local opportunities coming up. Including BEER’s 24th annual brew off in May. Local is nice because there’s no shipping expenses involved.I keep swearing to myself one of these days I am going to enter some of my beer(s) into a competition ………. one of these days
Good to know I am finally getting caught up around the house, last weekend was my first brew day in 6 weeks it felt so nice to get behind the kettle again even if it was just a wheat beer. I am going to look into it maybe this is the year why not![]()
This article reports 46.How many breweries are we up to now on the Island? Seems like a bunch
I am brewing an Oberon clone tomorrow in hopes that the lockdown will be over before the nice weather arrives. I bit the bullet and paid the shipping from bells for there house yeast to make it as close as possible. I made a nice size starter and have extra if anyone wants. From what I understand they use it for all of there non Belgium beers including 2 hearted. Stay safe everyone
How humble is this guy how can u not make this beer after watching this.He posts the recipe on the Bells website

Thanks! I was planning on brewing but had no idea there was a goody bag. This is awesomeI trust everyone is getting through okay, and if you’re working from home that you can get a little extra time for brewing into your schedule. This is a link to Facebook regarding virtual big brew day May 2. Bluepoint has a sign up for brewers through Facebook. The plan is to sign up and if you want you have an option to get gift of specialty malts and hops and whatever goodies they add. Pick up your supplies at the brewery on Friday. I hop the link is good if not I’ll edit it.
