I made a couple starters tonight, one with WLP013 London Ale. It was a bit chunky and cottage cheesy looking, and it smelled a bit sour. I haven't brewed in a long time, but I used to use WLP013 all the time, and I don't recall it ever looking or smelling like this. I'm back a newbie state of mind about it. Is this an indication of bad yeast, or is it no big deal?

If it smells foul I would chuck it. I wouldn't risk the chance of infection. I've used that yeast before and didn't notice a sour smell to it.
