Which country has ales that tend to be darker in color?

German Ales tend to be darker because they are fermented at lower temperatures.

Ok, just thought I would share this... I recently download BeerTrivia for my iPhone and this is what it told me.

Excuse my ignorance if some how fermenting at lower temperatures makes an ale darker!
 
Yeah, um, yeah, um, no. Your phone is wrong, you are right :) Lower temperature has nothing to do with color.
 
I would have guessed Russia, but temp has nothing to do with color, or at most contributes a negligible amount.

Lol, germany isn't even known for ales. They're known for lagers. Glad i never got that app then.
