Finally got down to Troon and The Referend this weekend. All the beers across both lineups were truly excellent. Adding these two to Conclave suddenly makes things very exciting in that part of the state...
I need to just suck it up and take the drive back down after Huna day...my hermitage status needs to end.

So many breweries i never heard of....the influx is real.

Yeah. I never read comments on anything online, but of course I had to click this one. And of course my reactions ranged from "Yes!" to "Shut up" to "Where and who?!" (Not many in the "Yes!" category for me, btw.)

I'll let you guess which response I had to this one:
"Maybe should have two categories? One for IPA and one for real beer? Don't want to leave out those unfortunate souls with no taste buds who think IPAs taste good."

I stopped reading after that.

Was it my dude from Climax?

The worst part is some breweries are trying to get people to "vote for them" which to me, is against what the n.j. brewery scene is about.

I had three or four different breweries in my Facebook feed post the poll and ask for votes. Then I asked myself why the hell I was following them on FB

A ton of breweries do this on social media, they'll always post to vote for them in whatever meaningless contest or whatever.

I believe the consensus is if you already "liked their page" you're obviously a fan of them and they deserve your vote....so they probably see nothing wrong with it. Which is honestly really stupid.

I noticed the ones I'd suggest (save Kane and Carton) didn't get many mentions.

Fine with me. Leave the truly good **** for us.

Is that snotty? Meh. You guys know what I mean. I think.

Referend is open every Saturday now! Wheeee!

So, will be hitting that (heh, heh) and Troon if anyone's around. Trying to convince my friend that we need to see Timmush too.

Will probably be down that way around 2.

Edit: And of course after I make plans, Kane posts a zillion new cans.

Got down there at 3. Just in time for everything to be sold out.

Was also pretty surprised that none of the Omna variants nor the Aslin collab were on for pours. What was up with that?

Nevertheless, enjoyed a great afternoon touring around Asbury with njdc2 - quite a nice consolation prize.

99.9% of new Kane releases do not offer the beer on draft on the day of the release.
