Well, we'll definitely be there tomorrow around 1. I didn't even tell her you were willing to pop something, she was just psyched to drink some Conclave.

always take Timmush word he will pop/have something for significant other, when i went up last year with my fiancé he gave her a heady topper literally made her day she was so happy

def gotta make a trip up Conclave soon need that new ipa and more gravitational waves

I visited The Referend today. The place is huge. So many barrels. Every beer was extremely well made. The Jung (young lambic) has now made my favorites list. Go visit.
Happy to have a spot like this in the dirty jersey....i'll definitely be checking it out soon if anyone wants to touch tips.

Not that I need to tell you guys, but Timmush is an awesome person, and Conclave makes amazing beers. The batch of Gravitational Waves thats on right now is so god damn good, and Shamanic Revelation was right there with it. I grabbed a growler of Shamanic to drink tomorrow (hopefully with axeman9182), and I can't ******* wait to pop it. Also, Mexican Morning continues to be a beer that I love, and I pray to Jobu that there's a second batch of BAMM! at some point in the future.

Troon has a weird setup. So you can head into the Brick Farm Tavern for food and pours of Troon beers, then get growler fills elsewhere. They also have some other, non-Troon beers on, as well as a full service bar. I didn't eat there, but the menu looks great, and word of mouth is strong, so I'm excited to visit again in the near future. The brewery itself is in a completely separate building set further back on the property. That's where you can get growler fills, and, I assume, a very small sample of beer before getting a fill if need be. But everything he had for fills was on in the restaurant. The brewer, Alex, is a really nice, laid back guy. I enjoyed chatting with him very much while he filled my growler. Oh yeah, and the beers were ******* awesome. The IPA he had was far and away my favorite (grabbed a fill of that, which I also hope to pop tomorrow with axeman9182), but the two pale ales were a very close second. I guess they had a DIPA on which kicked before we got there, but Alex told me it should be back on shortly. I really can't recommend this place enough.

After that, we hit The Referend. Holy ****. Like, guys. Holy. ****. I can't believe this place exists in New Jersey. The space is just enormous. Everything Jspriest had was fantastic, and from what he and his wonderful staff told us (Melissa in particular, who gave us a very nice tour), the future is bright. Berliner Messe and Jung, in all of their iterations, are beers I could (and someday hope to) drink a lot of. I feel like these guys are doing something special, and I really look forward to checking in on them again soon.

We ended the trip with some Bent Spoon. The aromatic citrus sorbet was intense, but delicious, though I think I ultimately preferred my scoop of sweet potato and marshmallow. The non-dairy hot chocolate was also very tasty, and the honey vanilla marshie was a nice touch.

So yeah, today was a good day. I strongly urge anyone to take the trip out to these places. You will not regret it.

Spellbound seems to be chugging along nicely. They canned a coffee porter recently, and are set up to can more small batches going forward.

I finally had a second Dark City beer that I thought tasted good. Side Piece, their cranberry gose, was actually very nice. I also still like their Bond Street Brownie, which I think they are releasing a BBA version of soon. Otherwise, their stuff still tastes off to me.

Demented is about to start canning (maybe DJPhresh wants to share some more details).

Man Skirt is canning too.

I'm sitting at Magnify right now, and their Turkish coffee porter with the stupid name is pretty good. The triple IPA was also good.

That's all I got.
I think the hype train was just that...all hype. Wasnt a big fan of it, glad you liked it.

Are there any funky/wild ciders on the shelfs in NJ? and if so what brands?
Wish I saw this sooner...

Really, really good. Super funky from what I remember. Shoprite Liquors in Westfield has it, typically.

And yet, still a line for a bottle release. Sheesh.

It could be cause of the bottle release or because of the super local following and time before Christmas everyone fills out their growlers. I have been friends with the crew at flounder and worth a visit in the future with some of the East coast yeast releases coming out.

And if they're only open one day a week, everyone has to go at the same time.

Not trying to throw shade at the brewery by any means.

Just... lines for days, everywhere, no matter who or where, it seems. Great for the businesses. Annoying for me, hahaha.

Yup. That was my point too. FWIW I've had their IPA and it's pretty good.

Heading over to Alementary for the first time tonight with a buddy of mine visiting from UAB. Any good food recommendations around there?
