Thanks for the info! Can't wait to check them out. Are people still meeting on the 3rd for beers? I am supposed to go to a beer friend's birthday party that day but would like to join you all. If it's a different date in December (or if people want to go another Saturday), please keep me in the loop!

There's a Kennedy around the corner from my house. Post-PATH ride home, it's heavenly. That trashy-ass mac and cheese works wonders after beers.

I'm all about Hollywood Fried Chicken. Have definitely done Barcade or Lucky 7s til close and then hit that place up

what are you north jersey guys talking about with your sheetz and bojangles... what are these fandangled places you reference

wawa is pretty legit tho... miss the days however when they carried more nationally recognized brands and a bit less wawa branded items

i still remember when my lil ho bunk town got a wawa back in the mid 90's.. they let the town teenagers run the place... what a poor idea that was. it was basically a party house where the goods were free.. don't think they ran an inventory for over a year haha

I went to college in VA for a year. I lived down the block from a Sheetz. That was the only late night food option

As long as it doesn't start with "our head brewer got a home brewing kit as a gift from his Grandmother for Christmas in 2015, and from there it was love at first drink!" or something, there's always hope.

****, this was going to be in my brewery description. Back to the drawing board I guess...

Going to see Toh Kay on black friday in asbury park. Stopping at carton and kane on the way down. Is there any other breweries I should check out down there? Been to dark city before.

Can't speak to any of the other breweries down there but love Toh Kay/Streetlight. So bummed I'll be out of town on Saturday when he plays in the city. The Irving plaza Streetlight show last month was amazing.

Jughandle is in Tinton Falls and is making some well-executed, simple stuff. It's nothing that people are going to be lining up for, but how often do you crush a pint of really well made hefeweizen?

Asbury Park Brewing Co. also opened up down the street from Dark City. It's a huuuuuge space, but the beer is not great. So if you're just looking to tick NJ breweries, by all means check it out while you're in Asbury, but if you want to actually drink good beer, you may want to go elsewhere.

I haven't been to Little Dog in Neptune in awhile, so I don't know what's up over there these days, but just about everything I've had from there has been good.

Also, I don't know when you were last in AP, but in the past few months, Bond Street expanded and has a really cool basement space with a lot more taps, most of which are local, or at least in-state breweries. I would check that out.

I know my brother and I, and probably a couple other friends, will be visiting a few NJ breweries on the 3rd. Several people from here have also expressed interest. You are welcome to join us. Same goes for anyone else. Will post when/where we will be later next week when we figure everything out.

yeah, a few of us wanted to do something but the 3rd is all booked for our little group

That's too bad. Hope to meet you sometime soon.

You can count on it! looking forward to visiting.

Who is going to Referend today?
Probably everyone after they get their Mexican brunch bottles at kane. Bastards. I'm stuck at work at our bottle release. So if you're in Bergen county come here first so we'll sell out and I can leave early and go to Kane.

What did people think of the Referend? I was really impressed. My favorite was the berliner with peaches and nectarines, but I thought everything was good. Very excited to have a 100% spontaneously fermented blendery in NJ.

Pet peeves:
  1. When people talk about stuff happening on FB without including screenshots
:p
I'm not screenshotting everything but I'll link you to the post:

TL;DR Dave Hoffman started a gofundmebrobecauseimbroke.com for a new taproom. Asking for 30k with no incentives like brewery swag, glasses, beer, etc.

Proceeded to argue with a bunch of people over a slew of posts on that FB link and around (including Dave calling people the c-word).

And this:

He got sidetracked and forgot to add them, will be posted shortly :p

Maybe he's punking us all. Any publicity is good publicity scenario.

You haven't thought about a Climax beer in 10 years and now you might try one to post on social. o_O

Sounds worth the while.

I live in Philly but work in Princeton. If they're open I'll have to drop in Monday or Tuesday PM.
