So I was lurking around on Ebay and found a 10 Gallon Corny Keg that the seller had stated was a Spartanburg Challenger VI Keg. I really like these kegs for fermenting 5.5 gallon batches in. Made him an offer on it and got it at a pretty good price. I did notice in the pictures that the layout of the keg was different than you typical Challenger VI.
Well I got it in, and it is different than my other Challenger VI Kegs.
Here is a pic of your typical Challenger VI:
This is what I got:
The keg has a different layout with the handles and the ball lock gas in and liquid out. There are no engraving on the side, stating the make, model, and manufacturing city, like one would typically see on a Challenger VI, and it has some German writing on the lid that says "Caution: Drain before opening" when translated to English.
Did the Germans make some sort of 10 Gallon Keg at one point in time? Can anyone identify this?
I'm not complaining about the keg, as it seems to be quality construction, just curious as I have not seen anything else like it.
