Back when I started brewing, direct pitching a Wyeast smack pack was (as far as I knew) sound brewing practice. At some point I felt "advanced" because I picked up a yeast starter kit. I felt like I was cutting edge making starters in my 1L flask...but now I see so many 2L and 4L flasks out there!!
I typically will store about 500ml split between two small jars. These are what innoculate the next liter of wort that was saved from the second runnings of my last batch.For those that overgrow a starter, how much do you store? And how long do you store it for before pitching it into another starter?
