Well, not exactly a great sunset pic, but at least the rain cooled things down.

Really ugly weather off E coast of Nicaragua right now and we are getting some affect from it here in Panamá.

Cold weather’s wreaking havoc on my humidor, holding 60-61% bought some heavy duty freezer bags to toss in my sticks and bovedas, I recently added painters tape to my lid seal i have to press it down to close maybe i’m losing from the bottom?

Edit: Freezer*

Last winter once humidity started dropping in the humidor i started just putting shot glasses of water in the humidor along with the bovedas. It simultaneously kept the humidity up and the bovedas charged. I noticed it was a little low a couple days ago, so it's probably time to start that again for the winter.

I dont normally like panatella size smokes, but my local fabrica threw a few of these in as freebies...not bad...rich big smoke and taste to match in a micro size.

After smoking all the great sticks lately these CAO Flavors just aren't doing it for me anymore. I'm glad I only bought a five pack.

The first of these I had was back when they first released in the 44rg size and it was kinda harsh and needed time. This is 50rg and smoking much nicer. We sell them at the shop for $8.50 and I feel they smoke well over that price so grab some if you can find them

What do y'all use to control the humidity in your humidors. I'm getting a bigger one for Christmas so I was preplanning how I'm gonna control humidity after I season it.

I like the simplicity of boveda packs but they seem to have a hard time maintaining a leaky humidor in the winter, I haven’t used the other options out there

I use unscented silica gel kitty litter. Same concept as heartfelt beads, a fraction of the cost. Spray with distilled water when they dry out and they hold humidity like a champ.

I have the equivalent of ten 69% bovedas and I’m holding 65%, my next online order I’m thinking about moving up to the 72’s for winter

You talked me into it. Boveda packs it is.

I keep twice as many as I need. When the first "set" has started to lose it's efficacy I swap them out with the second set. I then place the first set in a tupperware with a measured weight of distilled water, close it up and walk away until the second set needs changed. Then I repeat.

Yes. Boveda are re-chargeable.

What kind of rh you holding? I’ve read that kitty litter works great on the larger humis

what are the maximum amount of sticks you would keep in a 40ct. humidor?

The most that you can, probably in the low 30’s depending on the size of the sticks, the 60gr bovedas will lay flat and you can mix them in with the stogies, you would probably need 2 of the 60gr bovedas but 3 or 4 wouldn’t hurt as long as they are all the same %

And get a digital hygrometer from the start if you don’t already have one
