They canceled work again today so now I’m on day 6 of my 4 day weekend. Today I had an el corojo from HC. This is the first stick that I would describe as earthy. It kinda has a spicy dirt and wood taste that I really dig. There is also this very faint men’s cologne flavor but I’m not sure what it is. Does anyone know what I’m talking about?

I thought Maryland was bad when we got snow, you guys barely got a dusting looks like lol

Yeah we don’t have any snow plows or salting equipment down here so if it sticks to the roads then everything shuts down

Maryland drivers in rain/snow/ice have two speeds, unreasonably slow or insanely fast and it makes my 50min commute hell even when we get just a dusting

People laugh about the south getting snow and I’m like wow worry about your own driving!!

I have to work second shift tonight so no beer with this one. I have found cream soda to pair well with Maduros when you can’t consume alcohol. This is the first Rocky Patel that I’ve had that I didn’t fall in love with. Not a bad stick but for the price I’d rather have a My Father.

Just sounds like your tastes maturing. I used to really enjoy RP when I first got into cigars and now there aren't many of his I care for. Personally I think he focuses on making too many blends instead of making fewer blends that are really fantastic.

Started my day with a 15 year old Swisher called a Bering. It was pretty fantastic

Wow! I almost forgot about Bering. My first experiences in cigar smoking began with the standard drugstore fare like Swisher Sweets, graduating to the AyC Grenadier and Garcia y Vegas and, ultimately, to the 5-pack Berings in the aluminum tubes. I was sure I had arrived in the true high-end cigar world.

I was surprised that they still exist and have been reading about them. Sounds like they may be right up my alley; a flavorful mild/medium cigar. I'll have to include a couple in my next order.

So I decided to go for round 2 with a stick that I’ve had my eye on since it arrived. It’s a Torano Exodus 1959. I’m not sure what the dates on cigars mean. If y’all could enlighten me that would be great. It’s got a band on it that reads 50 years. Is that the age of some of the blend or an anniversary? This was a really great smoke. Super creamy and smooth with a nice roasted dark coco and coffee taste. I’m definitely getting more of these.

Good cigar. It was to commemorate the Torano family leaving Cuba.

Jalapeño. Another damaged stick I needed to dispose of. Super shots just landed. At $7/stick go find them and buy as many as you can before they are gone again.

Very nice, how’s the rp?
The first time I had the Decade I thought it was the best cigar I have ever had, so I bought a few more. However, since I've been smoking more complex sticks the Rocky Patels aren't as magnificent as they used to be for me. I would still recommend them however in the future I'll be buying My Father's instead.
