Picked up a case of bottles, 4oz each of simcoe and chinook, and a pound of Crystal 20 for a future brew day.
My LHBS carries all brands except Wyeast. I'm leaning more towards dry yeasts also, hopefully more strains will be forthcoming. I was getting a lot of White Labs and Wyeast from Northern Brewer, but with the long shipping times, results are less than expected. My nearby shop carries Omega and Imperial, but the price is much higher than white labs and wyeast so dry packs are gaining more appeal for me. I have always kept some on hand after I started using liquid, and the packs are still viable long after the expiration date I have found.
Called mine to have them get in some beechwood smoked 2row and some wine yeast I’m looking for. Hopefully will pick up by the end of next week. Does your local shop do special orders for you?
Hot Head for mead, have you used it before? If so, I guess you like the results.SO4, SO5, for ciders, Omega Hot Head yeast for a session Mead. Along with a large hops basket repurposed for fruit in a wide mouth fermenter.
That’s great! We have three left on Long Island. One sells wine cellar equipment and the other two are hardware stores (one barely has a few shelves).Tonight I'm taking the Mrs. to the LHBS for a 7 course meal with beer pairings. My LHBS is awesome like that, it's a brewery, too.
