The color is off on this rib-eye, it was deeply pink and juicy.

I haven’t had a great deal of time for anything but moving stuff last week. Sunday was a break from it all. Brunch was a ham and havarti omelette, home fries and sourdough toast.
An easy dinner of hamburgers with sides for dinner, no pics.

I had a burger last night...in bed. I was tired and just wanted to watch my show. I get it.

Mmmmm @AzOr that soup looks great! Thanks for the link.

I have two poblanos to roast and then I'm gonna make a red chile sauce and an omelette with said prepared chiles and colby cheddar rolled into the omelette and topped with that sauce. The chile powder is from El Potrero in Chimayó, New Mexico, and it smells so good! Can't wait to try it. this is the inspiration for the dish:

Sort of an ersatz chile relleno.

That sounds delicious. A friend was talking about how good the red chiles from Chimayo were just the other day. I may have to order some chile powder and pods soon.

The sauce is delicious! We took a shortcut today because it's been raining so no outdoor pepper roasting - instead, I made scrambled eggs with diced Ortega chiles and grated Colby cheese and that sauce on top. Easy to make when you start with chile powder! Homemade chicken stock, garlic, oregano, cumin...I'll be doing that more often and just keep some in the fridge. It will be good on so many things!

I have two chuck roasts nestled tightly in my 6 quart oval enameled cast iron Dutch oven, with quartered turnips, green onion segments, confit'd garlic, a beer, and homemade chicken stock. Boy it smells good. Dinner for several nights! One of the few things I'll eat several days in a row.

I'm making Roasted Miso and Maple chicken thighs Sunday. They have to marinate. I've never done them, so we shall see how it comes out. I'm excited.
Did it.

Those sweet soy glazed baby red and pecan green bean tossed in balsamic vinegar which i allowed to reduce a bit. I wanted something acidic to cut into the richness of the chicken and potatoes.

I rarely speak well of my own cooking, but this was pretty good.

Pasta Italiano as I told mine wife...we also had suppli (not photog'd)

Tomatoe paste from the garden, eggs from the pollos, and the other three ingredients from the store because we can't have cows or pigs, and we suck at making pasta

Looks delicious!! And homemade suppli too!?
Oh man, you're killing me.

I never heard of suppli before so looked it up - how does it differ from arancini? It sounds delicious!

Way back when we ate pasta, we had one of those pasta machines where you just dumped the stuff in the hopper and turned it on, selected the die you wanted for the needed shape, and it extruded it out for you! We made some delicious fettucini and spaghetti with it, using good semolina flour from Italy. I sure miss that but alas, flour is pretty much off my menu. I live vicariously through this thread though! :p

I've never heard of suppli. Now I have and I have to make it. HAVE TO.

That looks delicious.
