I read a book several months ago and can't remember the title or author :-(
I think it was written around 1997-2002.

The author had analyzed recipes that made it into the semi-finals of some prestigious beer competition around 2000 (maybe a few years earlier). The emphasis was on what characteristics the highly rated beers of each category had in common. Ex: 75% of the IPAs used XXX hops.

Can anyone tell me what book this is?

Ok, thanks. I just ordered several books from amazon including Designing great beers,
Palmers updated book, the Yeast book, and the new brewing Classic styles.

Should keep me busy for awhile.
