Listened to some Velvet Underground earlier tonight. Beethoven's 9th just now. Cheers!
Here's Ode to Joy, fourth mvmt from that symphony, but you have to have a keen ear (and vivid imagination). Wait till 1:30, you'll hear it ... "Jealously, turning to 9th symphony"

My ear is fine. The gap could be elsewhere. Certainly a fantabulous production.

I hear Mozart lurking in Lennon & McCartney sometimes.
This guy is in the "who died in 2024" list. If you can't hear Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano concerto in it, well you don't know Rachmaninoff. Eric Carmen was a terrific talent.

Fat Dog - Woof

and The Bug Club - On the Intricate Inner Workings of the System

Both finds insired by good KEXP live shows, but the Bug Club is much better in terms of everything (not only Quality Pints song).

Not a favorite tune of mine, but it bubbled up and came to memory like so much swamp gas as I read the about the current events;

Dedicated to the tech dudes (you know who you are) who helped make our lives "so much easier".

Some Colman Hawkins on vinyl with a $1 a can beer from a local brewery.

Armia was one of the.most important Polish hc/punk bands of the late 80's - mid 90's. Then they've turned into metal-ish hard core. Now they issued new album which is somehow dizzy-spacious-melancholic.

I've been enjoying the fictional duo "The Coward Brothers" (Elvis Costello and T Bone Burnett). The album is the soundtrack to an Audible play written by EC featuring the pair and Directed by Christopher Guest. I haven't listened to the play yet (looking forward to that), but the music is excellent. So many good tracks to chose from, including "Early Shirley"
