I'm trying to get some stuff recorded but I always struggle with the drums. I always listen to BBC John Peel Sessions whenever I'm good and pissed off at my recording. Those BBC techs were geniuses! Anyway, stumbled on this old favorite. Golly, those drums are amazing and Rat Scabies was incredible.

13 weeks in a row. Parris Island, SC. The only reprieve from USMC boot camp was going to church on Sunday morning. I'm not even Christian, but dang it was awesome when they played that song.

there was a time when the written word united people, educated them. that was supplanted by poetry, which did it with less words. then music took that poetry and put some melody to it, but the words and message were still there.

a lot of music now does not have any real message at all. there's a place for that too in my world, but i still like the stuff with the message.
