I brewed a rye fsrmhouse ale that I recently bottled it was in primary about 6 weeks with White labs farmhouse ale blend wlp670 a blend of farmhouse yeast and brett. When I cracked the fermenter this is what it looked like.

I've never used brett before and in 80 batches have never had an infected beer. So to all those who brew with brett is this normal?

Looks fine to me. Just taste it to make sure but you can normally always expect to see some type of pellicle with brett, especially in a bucket.

Just pulled the first iipa of the day off the tap and putting together a couple starters. Have not managed to get everything I need to brew the beer I want to brew... But I have things on hand to ferment some stuff!

I cant even eat Taco Bell period, let alone try their breakfast. Its been at least two years since last eating at Taco Bell but have never experienced the aftermath most of you speak about. Sonic for breakfast and Freddy's are about the only fast food places I go to when I do eat fast food.

I've been clean of taco bell since may 12th, 2007. It was twice in one week and the aftermath from hell. Consider yourself lucky! Well, all fast food for that matter less than a year later ;)

Having an Export Ale followed by an Allagash White here in Portland.

Drinking a sample of my botched up brew from five months ago. I got drunk brewing and put three ounces of high alpha hops in on a 60 minute addition on a 1.078 sg iipa. It has since been oaked for two months, and then had a gallon of 1.090 dme wort added to it. It is sitting at 1.005 by my new and somewhat suspect hydrometer and doesn't taste too bad. I am thinking it is time to dry hop the **** out of it and cross my fingers. ImageUploadedByHome Brew1408819167.806127.jpg

95 out but with the heat index here its 107. Trying to decide if I want to drink a Prarie or Nebraska Brewing Co Saison. Which I will be drinking in doors. I bet the weather is great in ME right now.

Sample of my small batch of hard ginger beer...it's up to 3.68% ABV. Sweet, but starting to get a little alcohol/fermentation twang. After son's ball practice, we're accompanying SWMBO to nerd Doctor Who viewing party. Luckily, the host has done some home brewing, so I'll have someone to talk to. Taking some of my stuff to share...don't know what will be there. But I probably won't be snapping photos...don't want to give the nerds ammo to make fun of ME!

Thanks for the reply I wasnt about to start a new thread to aak that ?. it tastes fine a little light on the flavor but I know brett takes time to develop

Sounds like brett haha. They certainly like to dry a beer out. If youre looking for a ton more brett character id pitch a few different strains as well and give it a year

I really need to get something a little more sessionable. Only thing in the house is 8.5 abv It is a little too early to feel like I feel. Hopkilla # 7. Or 8, or 9 who knows?

I bottled it. I do plan to leave it sit for several months before trying 1.
