This is definitely a Hard Lemonade! In a 3 litre bottle 300g white sugar, half a cup of lemon juice, Spring Water, Philly Sour and nutrient. Two weeks old, at 1.010, 4.5%, and it's the perfect Pub Squash. I wish I'd started with this! Very drinkable, this is my main brew from now on!
Last night we had bear, elk, and coyote, this morning we woke up to turkeys ... OT French press coffee while the sun burns off the fog.

Didn’t know they had those animals on the West Coast of Ireland.
Magic Rock Cannonball. I though these guys had gone bust, they disappeared from the market for a year or so.
Always liked Cannonball, although not as much as the now discontinued Human Cannonball. Big grapefruit energy.

HB Elderflower Ale. Picked the Elderflowers fresh from the tree over the fence from our neighbors. I thought I picked at the wrong time initially, but as it ages the Elderflower taste comes out. Works well with the Challenger, Fuggles and the Chocolate malt. I've made this before, but with dried Elderflowers and not freshly picked. 4.2% ABV. One of my favorite this year.

Tried the first bottle of HB Dunkelweizen. I was hoping for a little more banana and clove, but still not bad.

HB NEIPA with the Classic hop combo: Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe. Tapped 6/19, still good but cleared a bit...

Big day for the Sakè! Just put in 9cups water, 15oz of Koji and 6cups steamed rice. After a big swirl, 2mins later, the bubbler has gone crazy! The milky ‘Nigorizake’ is at around the halfway mark of a 6gal fermonster, but in between each rice grain is sweet, sweet Sakè! Tomorrow is ‘Tomezoe’ the biggest addition, 1.3gal of water, 20oz Koji and 5lb (13cups!) steamed rice. Let’s go!
It was just too hot and smoky (!) this week to brew a quick NEIPA, but it’s going to be cooler tomorrow. Having a few clams and beers. Cheers!

I've tried a few of Victory's sours and enjoyed them so when I spotted an unfamiliar-looking can I grabbed it. Turns out, it's not a sour, which is understandable (now) since it doesn't say sour anywhere on the can! Another senior moment, I suppose.
I'm not disappointed because it is a very decent tripel with subtle banana, clove, spice and coriander. At 9.5%, it's a little dangerous as it is very quaffable.

Well boy howdy, I knew the last two additions would be vigorous for the Sakè…but wow! 20mins later and we have this! It looks like a hailstorm on the puddle inside the fermenter for all the bubbles coming off. Cool!
Trying a new DIPA from local Banded Creek Brewing. Little bit hazy, sweeter finish but a clean 9% too. Very nice.

Not the season, but a nice session Chocolate Stout, and a bit more carbonated then expected for the style. Hello darkness, my old friend...
Here’s another California Pilsner, this one from Anderson Valley Brewing Company, Boonville, California. “The Pilsner” is a 5.2% ABV beer. I’m always looking for Pilsners so when I find another, I really get excited!
My excitement is a bit muted on this one. Yes, it is tasty, but if I were to close my eyes, I’d call this a Golden Ale. We know it is a Lager, but I’m picking up a slight fruitiness not found in Czech and German model Pilsners which are hoppy, dry and crisp.
I know I’m beginning to sound like a broken record, but “The Pilsner” also sufferes from clarity problem, so typical of California brewers attempting at making European-style brews. Pilsners are supposed to be crystal clear. I think the brewers out there and their brew staffs need to study what these beers are supposed to look and taste like. Filtering and fining is definitely in order here, so I’ll grade this one “incomplete” for the semester! Get back to work!

Trying a new sour, from a full-on local brewer. Black Berry Sour from Railyard. Gorgeous colour, tiny little sour and a toast…with some berries. I’m picking local Crabapples coming home from fishing, and I get more sour apples. My nose/taste is mixed up with all the smoke lately, so maybe it’s berry. Clean, crisp and delicious.
Weldwerks extra extra juicy bits, its probably a little past its prime but still an excellent beer.. and a close up of an elk that was about 40 yards out from where we're camping, crossed in front of us on our drive back to the campsite.

Juicy bits is definitely best as fresh as possible.
Lupo's ships everywhere. We order the spiedie marinade regularly. But I'm actually at our son's in Minnesota. He orders it too.

You were talking about those yesterday in the brewery. Looked them up, it sounds tasty. Not the same marinade, but Aldi sells marinated chicken skewers, in chili lime and pollo asado flavors. We have some in our freezer. Now I need to get some hoagie buns for those...

If you can get decent Italian bread where you are, lightly butter a slice and wrap it around a line of spiedie chunks. Much better than a bun.
