Nothing to mess with. I've been stung dozens of times through the years with no ill effects. Then the last time I was stung my hands swelled up to the point I couldn't close them to make a fist. I got all blotchy on my torso, and started wheezing. My doctor has advised me to carry an epipen. Be careful.
Yeah, my dad is in the same boat and we do have an epipen, my wife is allergic... to, well, everything. I get stung on the regular, we live on the side of mountain and I mow 6ish acres and there's always something out to get me hahah. But I appreciate the concern as you are very much correct.

A rather jostled pint of ordinary bitter. With both fermenters wrapping up, it was time to pull some kegs out of the fridge and my bitter took the brunt of it. It's interesting having it mit heffe, the Whitbread strain isn't sharply bitter or yeasty. It's is a really pleasant tasting yeast, very mild and fruity. I like this strain. This batch is almost too clean, so I’m digging the extra fruit.

I think Prost is my new favorite commercial brewery. I’ve tried all four of the beers in this variety pack now, and they’re very good. It appears that the brewery is pretty confident that they’re brewing these to proper, northern German, style.

Yea. My friend goes to the UK a lot. I asked him to bring back something nano that we can't get in the US. I forget what he brought back from Ireland in a plastic bottle. I think it was Paddy.. Best friend but sometimes it's an effort :) Saw this up in NH because I liked the 12.

He did get busted one time trying to bring a bottle onto carry on with a $200 bottle. I told him I would have made a family memory and drink the whole thing before boarding

The new keg. In 2008 I got a 6 pack of this new fangled Sierra Nevada beer called Torpedo. Upon taking the first sip, I declared “this is the best beer I’ve ever had”.

While we may have moved on from that moment, it sticks with me. This new homebrew is an homage to that era. Lots of piney, grapefruity hops, a nice dose of caramel malt, and a moderate dry hop.

It’s not clear yet but boy does it taste nice.

Kicked the west coast pale keg. This had some keg hops which means the last pour is quite potent. I’ve got another keg waiting to be tapped 💯.
 
Not sure why the 12 year old is more expensive than the 13 but if the state of NH is going to give you a rebate for the more you spend? You get both
I don't know much about Speyside Whiskies. Usually go for island/Highland but as far as I can see the answer is 12 year old is bottled from a single cask, rather than casks from the same year blended. Single cask means the distiller has come across a cask where everything has come together to make a superior whisky, hence pricier. The top of the hill is single-cask, cask strength.

Glad to see no ice in the glass!

I'm a different dog. I always get an odd look ordering neat. I'm not much into adding water even on the high octane. If a bottle doesn't describe, it's probably blended. The 13 does have the heat and characteristics of a blend. I do like the 12 more.

Drinking a HB dark Barleywine bottled in July 2021. 9.0kg Simpsons Maris Otter, 0.25 kg Special B Malt, 0.3kg Weyermann Carafa Sp. 3. 50g of Apollo hops at 60 minutes and 50g of Apollo at 10 minutes for 83 IBU. Used a yeastcake of US-05 of an Amber Ale for yeast. 36 bottles bottled.
Carbonation is really light and could be a bit higher, but it's nice and malty. 9.8% ABV. The aging makes it pleasant.

Hitting some of my aged ones recently since I just made another batch of Wee Heavy and need the space to age it.

Kegging day for me, too. I've taken a stab at reproducing the Paulaner Munich Lager that became my staple beer while I was back in Oregon earlier this year. That stuff really blew me away, so I've decided to try to bumble my way toward something in that orbit. It's hard to tell with all the yeast in the way, but think I'm in the ballpark. If nothing else, it'll be a nice beer.
