Kegging sample of a Weissbier. Munich Classic at 64°. I try to highlight the spicy phenols in wheat beers, more than the fruity esters. This has a definite, but not overpowering, taste of cloves. I think this one is going to be really good when fully carbed.

More flavor and twice the alcohol.
Then a couple beers last night at home after unpacking and while making dinner.
Drinking a HB, Nutjob Pecan Porter while brewing an English style Best Bitter.
Another Nutjob. Gotta kill the keg so I can purge it with fermentation. As usual, poor planning on my part.
Was greeted by a dead deer on the lawn when I got home from work today.
I figure that’s worth having a beer.

Cider I made on the trub of a kolsch.
Hazy Pale Ale as I’m trying to free up a keg for a Belgian Dubbel.
First pour of my American Wheat, with orange zest, kegged on Thursday. Still tastes a bit green. The orange is detectable but just barely. I guess that’s a good thing as I didn’t want it to overpower. Looking forward to seeing how this ages over the next few weeks.

A "friend" at work "volunteered" me for a training position that I was not seeking. Thanks, buddy, now I need a drink.

It seems that my newest friend Mort, the dead deer, was dragged away by the DC Department of Public Works today. Why is it that whenever I make a new friend they hasten to go away? I thought Mort and me really hit it off last night. He was an amazing listener. Aw well, nothing lasts forever, I suppose.

A few months ago I was playing around and made some cider with DADY. Just took the first sip of it. Has all the mouthfeel and taste of water. I just now put 5 gallons of real cider made with cider yeast on tap, so I do have that.
Lunch beer, HB Golden Ale and chicken tacos...

Kegged a Belgian Dubbel this morning. Needs more time to be adequately carbonated. Then brewed an Old Rasputin clone.

I've gotten that before. Preparation was incorrect. They must have shaken it instead of stirring. I'd have sent that one back.
