Ha! Good eyes! After my inventory was destroyed I had an urgent need to brew. During the end of year sales I bought a kit that was close to what I wanted. I didn't frign weigh the grains. Just milled and mashed. Came in way light. Had to adjust original gravity in the fermentor. If you notice, that little mash was 1.130. Never again on the kits. I've got maybe 75 lbs of grain replaced from the loss. And maybe 5 or 6 lbs of that flowery stuff. All grain and still rocking DME......whhhhyyyy lol

You sure you wrote that right? A 1.130 is a huge ass beer. My double IPAs start 1.074 and yield 8.2. What you showed is like 1.8 times that amountHa! Good eyes! Yep. 1 gallon 1130 into 5 gallons of 1060 got me where I wanted to be.You sure you wrote that right? A 1.130 is a huge ass beer. My double IPAs start 1.074 and yield 8.2. What you showed is like 1.8 times that amount
So your topping up, gotcha. I’m always fascinated seeing how others brew. There really are so many to make it happenedYep. 1 gallon 1130 into 5 gallons of 1060 got me where I wanted to be.
Yes, it is interesting. I don't like to top up. I usually just live with what I get. But this time was just too far off. I'm anxious to see how screwed up it is.So your topping up, gotcha. I’m always fascinated seeing how others brew. There really are so many to make it happened
