The first time I brewed, I used a tall and skinny 6 gallon SS pot that fit well in a regular cooler. When I went to cool the wort, I just filled a cooler with ice water and set it inside. It worked really well and cooled rather quickly. I have sinced purchaced an 8 gallon aluminum stock pot for boiling. The problem is, the pot is much wider and will not fit in a cooler. So, my question is, Could I boil in the aluminum pot and transfer it to the SS pot to cool or is there to much risk for oxidation?
