Hi, all,
I've been looking at the Brewha and Unibrau systems which, if you aren't familiar, are basically BIAB systems where you mash, sparge, boil, and then ferment all in the same vessel. These systems start at around $3000, and I'm not interested in the jacketed fermenter - I'm a little scared by how fragile it seems - so I'm wondering about a DIY solution. I'm thinking a Spike 10 gallon conical fermenter, which I would fit with a tri-clamp electric element, temperature controls, recirculating pump, and a mash colander. I think the biggest difficulty would be the mash colander. Brewha sells one separately, but it's $600 and may not even fit in the fermenter I want to use it in. Has anyone else thought about a project like this?
