Where on the UES? I live in the neighborhood and Bondurants is my regular spot. Definitely worth checking out, always a solid beer and whiskey selection and the food is great. Shoot me a PM if you want to meet up there for a beer on Friday or Saturday. They are cool about sharing as well so I'll definitely bring something along.

If you're looking for something to do tomorrow night, Dive Bar on 96/Amsterdam should have all the BCBS variants on tap. Planning on heading there after class, prob. will arrive around 9-9:30.

And happy bday! I'm turning 30 myself next week, not looking forward to the end of my 20s haha.

Thanks! Happy birthday to you, too. My birthday is on 12/5, but we're doing a chill celebration early.

My sister and her boyfriend live at E 56th and 1st Ave (maybe this is lower east side? My NYC geography is garbage.)

Good looking out on Dive Bar and Bondurat. May end up at one or the other.

Shoot me a message if you do!

56th and 1st is kind of where Midtown East and the Upper East Side meet. If you want to get real technical, that particular area is known as Sutton.

Thanks. Not much info on their website, but I'm intrigued. May end up doing Grimm/Interboro/The Well.
Just to pile on, Grimm/Interboro is an absolute blast of a time imo, especially the latter. It’s not a huge space but I’ve gotten carried away and spent hours more than planned at Interboro, always a great time. Plus the beers are awesome and there are plenty of other options for drinks if you’re in a bigger group.

I'm heading to NYC tomorrow for Thanksgiving. My sister lives on the upper east side, so my wife and I will be there tomorrow and Thursday, but on Friday, they all want to take me out to Brooklyn for the day for my 30th.

My sister wants to hit Torst and probably Spuytin Duyvil, but I'm open to any and all suggestions. Not looking for anything in particular (don't need to chase rare 'loons or Singlecut drafts), looking more for very good selection at a place where six or so people could hang out for a few hours.
Put in the zipcode of where you're staying here and then you can easily decide where to go in Brooklyn:

I’m somewhere over eastern Montana en route. 2 free checked bags on Alaska, so I brought some goodies from OR to share. I’m around until Wednesday and am planning on hitting up most of the places suggested in the last couple of pages. I know I’ve met several of you, but say hey if you’re around.

Suarez Sunday is my only set plan, but I can definitely see The Met > bondurants in my future at some point.

Last February, fueled by Natty Rush and a delicious [name redacted] pils, we fought the moms in Queens, took over a few choice spots in Brooklyn, and somehow got to One Mile House.

I know some of you have been asking about Round 2. So, here goes.

I ask that you please fill out this form (props to Padraig for introducing me to this site) so I can get an idea of everyone's availability.

If none of these dates work, then we can always shoot for sometime in March.

I look forward to hearing from you. Let's get weird!

The recent Grub Street diet on nymag.com featured kind words about FolksBier from this lady who works at Saveur magazine :

"Later, we rounded up some troops to head to Folksbier, where the greatest beer known to mankind is made: Glow-Ups. When we have it at home, I don’t like to share it."

cool to see them get love in a kinda random "foodie" blog

they should definitely get more press but I strongly disagree with the notion that the Glow Ups are their best beer. They're good but plenty of other offerings from them are better.
