So i put an order in for some stuff. When i opened the package i got an extra goodie, Tartaric acid. I didnt order it and idk what to do it with.

Whats this stuff for?

It lowers the pH of fermenting wort to prevent bacteria. Also acts as a preservative after fermentation.
That's what wiki said at least!

P.S. It can also be used to clean metal!! Yum!

It's the primary acid in grape wine. It sometimes is added to other wines to balance the acidity and to give the wine a bit more acid if it needs it. I typically use acid blend which is a blend of tartaric, malic and citric acid, but tartaric acid can be used alone if you want to.

If you are not a winemaker I don't think you would find any reasonable use for the tartaricacid and especially such a large quantity!
