not a joke a true story:
recently in a nyc hospital a guy came in with obvious monkey pox on his genitals. he says he has been having a lot of fun lately because his marriage was arranged and he wanted to have sex with a lot of girls before he gets married. (yeah i know)..
after telling him he has an std and that he needs to get tested and treated for other stds, he was shocked (yeah i know) but reluctantly agreed.
when writing him a prescription for antibiotics the pharmacist asked me if this was for him or for his partner? we are allowed to write scripts for partners who are not present in order to decrease the spread of chlamydia.
i went back to the patient and asked him if the last girl he was with before getting the rash had any symptoms so that i could give him a script for her too.
his answer was "no doc shes australian" ????????????
