Stone's latest hyped announcement

Homebrew Talk

Help Support Homebrew Talk:

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.
Paste: Is it a problem, though, that backers don’t have any traditional ownership? That they don’t own a percentage of the company? Once you give them a collaboration bottle or a tee shirt, that’s the end of the transaction.

GK: It’s actually not though, because when they come and pick up their bottles they’re getting a pretty insane perk, and being treated like a member of Team Stone for a day

Check the comments on the site now. They are changing the Perks in the middle of the offering. Now it depends on when you bought the Collaboration bottles if you get the Team Stone benefits.

"@Francis Johnson, 1. We’ve discontinued the Team Stone discount for the day you pickup the bottles, it is only available to those who purchased while it was up on the page. 2. No, only that discount is currently being offered. 3. We’ll keep everyone posted well in advance, and send updates along the way, but you’ll have at least a year in advance to make your travel arrangements."

Someone's accountants crunched the numbers and went 'HOLY ****, NO NO NO!"

by the time this **** is ready, and with a complete lack of information still on the website of past perks, they're going to forget just about everything that you were suppose to actually get.

No matter how average these super duper rarez will be, they're an automatic 100% amazeballs suckcess because they were sold out BEFORE they were made!

They turned the brewing business model on its head!1

I'm looking forward to a brewery that forces me to drink beer from other breweries, and then I pay for construction so that they can build a new brewery!

Well nobody forces you...unless you're at one of the bistro's...and the best stuff on tap are the guest taps...then yeah....

They also fired everyone since... well, no more team stone discount. I lost track at how many times they back peddled and rewrote the ******* incentives on this ****. And with none of it on paper (I don't know if it says so on your contribution receipt) then they'll just pull whatever out of their ass when it's time for people to redeem it come two ******* years from now.

Beer Futures, bro.

I love you, Stone... but you're now officially the worst. Trady can go home.
I just love the collabs that they haven't even bothered to think about that they're selling, like Lost Abbey, Avery, and Alesmith. What suckers cicerones the people buying in are.

And even the ones they do have some vague idea on are still being pulled out of their asses. Like, besides the long ass delay of brewing Dayman in Germany and shipping it back to the states, they don't even know if it could be a triple IPA.

Not sure about you, but going from double to triple could make a good tasting balanced beer into something god awful.

It still amazes me that a pulled out of Greg's ass executed crowd funding that has had so many missteps and back peddling has been this successful. I really can't believe that they didn't pad the ******* numbers on this.

Collaboration with Evil Twin (Perfect Crime Version 2.0?) available now. If you thought their first collaboration sucked (like I did), now you can get 1.5 litres of it.
WHY? The original was maybe the worst collaboration they ever made, which is saying something. Double Imperial Smoked Black Saison!

pfft, you know it's going to be an imperial version of that yam-pumpkin beer they made a few years back... BECAUSE YOU DEMANDED IT!

Just looked at it and they're at $1.35 million right now.

Are you guys still complaining about this?

How about a topic lamenting the sale of Goose Island to InBev?

Before we were only furiously speculating as to whether there were enough gullible dipshits out there to help Stone reach their goal; now we have confirmation. So technically a new complaint.

Raising lots of $$$ =/= brewing excellent beer: proven by Stone.

I didn't buy any and I bet I'll be able to buy this on tap at the breweries in a 4oz sample for $2.
