The differences between Double Sunshine, Heady, and Abner are just as big as the differences between Pliny, Sculpin, and Duet. There is nothing special about the IPAs being made by those breweries, they're very similar (except Heady with its silly yeast) to ones being made elsewhere in this country and in other countries. If you disagree then you're ignorant.

The Alpine IPAs I've had in bottles were delicious, but not like that at all. If growler/draft is different, I'll take your word for it as I've never had the pleasure. To this day I haven't had one like that outside of New England. I'm staking no claim to them being the first, etc., but just defining the term.

I think you're putting too much emphasis on "hazy". The fact that Heady looks more or less like bleached diarrhea doesn't really make it different from other IPAs that taste similar.

As someone who lives between CA and VT, I have to say that they are both great, and both CA and VT make great IPAs, but the newer style is not regional. It's just "the new style" of IPAs. The 3 big IPA producers in VT just happen to be newer breweries who brew almost exclusively in this style.

I could kind of understand the methodology if they had provided new information on the beers they are releasing. Similar to how early bird tickets for concert festivals are the cheapest, but they often don't have any of the lineup, whereas tickets available after the lineup is announced are more expensive, but there is really no added value or information with this.

Anyone, including distributing companies and retail operations, can purchase the beers during the campaign at the same price as the general public. There is no way for us to police who purchases the beers via this platform. However, if it should end up being resold at a retail establishment, it will have traveled from Distributor to Retailer and gotten marked up along the way, thus the Retailer will be selling it at a substantially higher price (that’s how the beer biz generally works). Additionally, it’s possible these beers will be available in different, non-commemorative bottles containing only 750 milliliters of beer versus the 1.5 liters those who purchase the beers now on Indiegogo will receive.

actually it does sound like Stone might sell some of these bottles for retail, you just won't get the nifty 1.5L bottle

yeah,t he quoted part specially says that it just wont be in 1.5 ml bottle, Which when it comes to WootStout or any other high abv beers, is probably a better option anyway.

Stone already marked up the price $3 for a second chance sell. Which still does feel completely wrong considering these are 2-3 years away.

Oh and hey, they decided to do another Holiday collaboration with Jolly Pumpkin and NogneO and this stupid thing is about to hit 2 million for the most unorganized pulled out of his ass crowd funded plan.

Stu, I poured this Night Shift Morph and instantly thought of your comment. I think Night Shift used more bleach than The Alchemist though. (Pretty tasty beer surprisingly)

So it's ok to ask us to fund the beers years in advance but it's "uncool" to ask the contributors to do the same? Honestly I don't know if anyone would have even expected the contributors to have to buy into their own beers, so asking people seems so much weirder than just not asking.
