Is this a normal SCOBY growth or no? I just got a SCOBY from a friend and this is 2 days into my first brew. Thanks for looking!

Yummy, looking good, healthy, and perfectly normal.

Make sure the surface of the scoby remains wet/submerged. Douse with the kombucha when it starts to stick up above the surface or looking dry. Just tilting the vessel a little back and forth should do that. No need to open it up.
