In your experience, can you scale your batches down by half?
What I mean is, can I cut all ingredients by half to make a half batch?

5 gallons a bit much for just me.

Thanks all

Yes, it works like that. However, if you go from homebrew recipes to large scale commercial batches you have to make some adjustments.

Over the years, I took my beer brewing to 5 gal. all grain batches. But I found I was supplying my nephew's with beer. So I started scaling back my batches. Even got down to 1 gallon brews.

I've been away from brewing for several years and had a lot of life issues occur. This year, I found I had kidney failure and now have a lot of time on my hands and a large array of brewing equipment, so....what better time to rediscover an old hobby. Mead and cider are gonna be my main focus. I'm finding that a lot of beer and ales being brewed anymore are way over hopped for my taste
