should i like look at the moon during the day? my scale read 43lb's11.8oz's earlier...now it's 43lb's12.1oz's? it stays on 24/7 and i know the moon can effect sea levels.....is this thing actually that cool,
More likely you're seeing load cell drift...
you know there's plenty of drug addicts that think a half ounce is A LOT!
and i know it's the sun f'in with it if it goes up a half ounce again tonight! lol
Do you sparge to a gravity of 1.000 too?
Only 16 lbs in the full cylinder
and if you're willing to look up the moon....i notice my scale goes up at night and down at noon...then starts going back up when the sun is over the yard arm.....about a half ounce, and the sun effects tides more then the moon....you are very right, the moon maybe only pulls the ocean up maybe a foot or two when the sun and moon are aligned, but when the suns up, it's a pretty constant 4-5 feet.....
for the record, i opened my door, so it's changed...but this morning at 7am, my scale read 43lb's3.1oz's....at 4pm...it was 43lb's3.6oz's.....and like i said this has happened every day for a week that i've been notcing....i've had the scale for about a year but i was thinking it was elecrical resistance in the sensors....now i'm pretty sure it's the sun and moon.....because i've tried running the A/C all day same thing....
edit: this is drumking rambling and not a serious forum right? where ican say i'm not asking wether, brewing at night or day, can increase my enzyme or extraction effec.....hmmm,damn now that i'm thinking about it though.....
edit #2: seriously, if the pull of the sun effects my scale by about a half ounce, if i like fly sparge in the middle of the night....maybe gravity would help get more extraction! i might try that!
it's offically high tide and my scale dropped half an ounce.....if i wasn't asking the question i'd panic and try to pin down a leak! for confirmation i'm going to watch for it to go up at 1:44pm.....if it's accurate enough to detect 3 grams.....
(actually 0.3oz's, but i do mean i'd be in a panic if i saw that without considerinjg gravity!)
We need to get you in front of a camera @bracconiere and distribute your daily doings to the world.
Because tidal forces (the forces which cause tides) are caused by change in gravitational field (over the diameter of Earth), not by strength of gravitational field. Since the Moon is a lot closer, the change in gravitational field from one side of the Earth to the other is a lot more than the change in gravitational field from the Sun from one side of the Earth to the other.Even though the Sun is 391 times as far away from the Earth as the Moon, its force on the Earth is about 175 times as large.
and then it says it doesn't effect the tides as much as the moon, because science....now my brain hurts.....
