Rite Brew is my go to spot, I was just there yesterday. Luckily they are a short distance from me. It's nice to see cheap shipping in case some day I'm real lazy or can't drive there.

Wisconsin to Fort Wayne for $3.09? How can any shipper do that???

I had a similar price/delivery experience with RiteBrew's "Economy/Saver" shipping option (Ordered on Monday, arrived on Wednesday). There is some information this shipping option on the "Shipping Information" page (link).

For me, maps for UPS and Spee-Dee show "next day" delivery and both are excellent (but not perfect) on doing that. With "Econony/Saver", I don't have that expectation.

So for "Economy/Saver", my guess is the package has a 2nd tier priority. If the truck is full with other top priority packages, the package sits for a day. The trucks travel those routes (including past my house) every day. And, if the delivery services decide it isn't profitable, the shipping option will be discontinued.

Ritebrew is my go to. Always get fast shipping here to Indiana. I have screwed up orders (Probably due to the sampling of my work while shopping) and it only took a quick email to them to get them corrected. They don't have a large selection of hardware but that's fine for people already setup and looking to order the basics like ingredients, commonly used items, ect. I usually put together a large enough order to take advantage of per pound discounts and shipping discounts. Also they sell grain by the ounce so you can buy small amounts for those smaller batches.

It's two states over, only 335 miles.
I ordered enough to get the $5 discount on shipping: $8.09 - $5 = $3.09.

You are correct, it is just a warehouse. It's about twenty minutes from me, I buy 95% of my ingredients from them.

I buy almost everything from them- but generally the liquid yeast they carry isn't the kind/brand I want.

The cool thing for me is that they use Speed Dee delivery, which means they can ship to my daughter's house pretty cheaply vs USPS or FedEx. The prices are great, the service is fast, and the selection is also pretty great (except for not carrying the liquid yeast I want). They do carry the wine yeast strains I need.

My latest order made on a Mon arrived Wed.
I get my base grain through group buys with my homebrew club: 55'lbs Crisp #19 maris otter for $60. Then get a lot of specialty grains and dry yeast from ritebrew with occasional hops.
