Replacing my faucet, with a keg on tap

This is likely filled with stupid questions. I just finished my first beer and it's on tap in my kegerator. However, I have quickly learned that I want to upgrade to a Perlick faucet. I should have listened to all of you knowledgeable people, but I was strapped for cash and thought it couldn't be too bad. Well, it's not terrible but I want the Perlick.

How do I drain the beer currently in the line so I can switch out the faucets? If I unhook the ball lock connection at the keg, will it remain in the line so I can drain it from the tap? Or will it go everywhere? Or should I just purge all the CO2 from the keg and then drain the line? I don't *love* purging the gas from the keg because I feel like I lose a lot of my hop nose. I probably don't but when I smell it as I purge it I feel like I am losing delicious aromas. Any help would be appreciated.

Disconnect tap, put tap in bucket, remove faucet, install perlick, re-tap.

Disconnect from the keg, open current faucet to bleed off pressure, replace faucet, reconnect to keg, enjoy beer from new faucet.

LThe disconnect will close itself when disconnected trapping the beer inside. Open the tap to let it all out. Replace faucet. Reconnect QD.

Depends on the brand of dog and breed of microwave...

As for the keys. Dog -> microwave, 30 seconds and check for sparks.
