OK, so I am at a bit of a standstill as my CO2 tank is empty and I want to take a trip to a LHBS in Berkeley, about a 45 min ride, and will not have time to do it until next weekend at best. So, in my boredom I decided to take apart my tap setup on my kegerator. The line is discolored but does not appear to be bad. So I thought why not ask the experts. I go thru a cleaning and sanitizing every keg change where I run cleaner thru the line and faucet at least twice, so 4 to 5 gallons worth twice, and then rinse with clean water twice to three times. I then mix up 4 gallons of Starsan and run that thru the system at least twice. I have had the same beer line in for probably about 3 years with no issues that I can tell. This kegerator may be going into retirement as I bought a nice, new to me, Komos two tap setup that will move into the spot once I get all the lines set up and the gas distribution worked out. So, my question to the masses, would it be wise to put a new tube on the old kegerator now? I have everything apart to really get into a good cleaning once I get my tank filled again so it is not a big deal either way. As always, any input is welcomed and appreciated.

What kind of line do you have now?
If you don't have EVA barrier line, now would be a good time to switch. And I would get plenty of extra to outfit the new with it too (if it doesn't come with it).

I wouldn't replace the lines if I really was going to retire it soon. Especially if they're already EVAbarrier. OTOH, if "retirement" means retired to the basement to be the backup kegerator... well then that's different. Your cleaning/sanitizing routine sounds more than adequate.

I already know it's not EVABarrier... I have yet to see stained EVABarrier. Among my stuff is a 2L pop-bottle with a tee and pair of carb-caps and a piece of EVABarrier that make it into a 'micro-keg'.. It's spent months full of Star San, been used for 'extra' beer that was too much for my larger kegs and it once spent a bit of time full of PBW. I think it was the PBW that washed the ink off the outside, but having been left in such stuff and showing absolutely no signs of deterioration speaks volumes to it's formulation.
I'd say now is the ideal time to try out EVABarrier on your taps (...good chance to try a Nuka shank with your Perlick tap too). If I know anything at all about you and your brews from reading your posts on here for the last few years; Trust me; your already good beer will taste better and you won't want to go back!

How long have the beer lines been in use? 1 yr? 2 yr+?
Also - are the line lengths cut to pour the perfect head size based on EVA ID and PSI?
How much do a new set of lines cost (how many lines ?? ) I haven't priced them out in a long time - but I think it used to cost $30 for 6 lines. Oh, and I would pbw/rinse star San if I got new lines. So, not saving much there.
