If I can't get it by the slice then I have serious concerns about the establishment.

If they think square cut is the proper manner to slice the pizza.... Well they are just wrong . Turn and run.

A slice of plain cheese will tell you just how good they are. In my opinion it is the best way to judge those three keystone ingredients and how well they cook the crust.

Goto combo is Pep/mush/sausage. Rabbit pellet sausage always scares me. Loose crumbled is fine, but my favorite is a good link that has sliced thinnly length wise and gets a touch crisp on those edges. Local place here makes their sausage in house and it is great-sadly their pizza is square cut cardboard. (So I always get the sausage sandwich when we order there)

I most of the time make 4 pies, cause the dough recipe makes 4 round balls. They are all different ingredients so we do the Milwaukee Slice (square cut), that way we get a taste of each.

You can cut a circle into 8, 16, 32! triangle wedges and still get a taste of each. Plus a piece of crust to enjoy and keep their fingers sauce/grease -free. That's not a knock on the St. Louis slice (square cut). Merely that the taste of each isn't a knock on the classic triangle cut.

^^^ You are so right. I taught my daughter fractions using pizza. She didn't get it with sockets or combo wrenches. After a light went on I could see she got it, then she said too bad we don't have a pie to make sure I get it.

@mac_1103 My wife can do the exact same thing. I love to cook but that ability of hers makes me jealous. She had one fork full of my Shrimp & Grits at the Omni Hotel restaurant in Amelia Island, came home and recreated it exact from scratch. Now it's our go to recipe for Shrimp & Grits.

anyone can do whatever they want with pizza, I don't care.

My personal favourite is spicy salami, blue cheese and pineapple

I’ve thought on this for two days now and I think I’ve formed an opinion. Good dough and good sauce are simply a delivery method for well incorporated, harmonious ingredients. Thus, if it’s broccoli or bleu cheese or balsamic glaze or pineapples (not necessarily on the same pie), let ‘er rip! NOTHING is a “fake” pizza topping!

All joking aside (clearly the pumpkin post was bs) I agree that good dough and good sauce play an important role, I am not a picky eater but I do enjoy properly prepared food. For pizza toppings I prefer pepperoni, sweet pepper, mushroom, and onion. Not necessarily on the same pie. Proper sausage (sliced with good spice to it) is good. Those i consider real toppings... But hell I'll even do pineapple. I'd like to say that I have a go to pizza topping or toppings, but that's like trying to choose a favorite beer, not gonna happen. I bought some anchovies a little bit ago that I've been wanting to try, so we'll see how that goes. I've had the weird stuff too, like bbq chicken pizza, meh, a big mac pizza, that was different, cauliflower crust pizza with artichoke and prosciutto, surprisingly decent. I had a rosemary mushroom truffle flatbread thing (felt hipster but whatever) at one of my favorite local breweries, it was OK but that was the first time I picked a topping off a pizza, a full blown sprig of rosemary baked into the pizza, way to overbearing.

My pizza is what I guess you call 'garbage pizza' as it doesn't follow any rules at all - but everyone loves it.
I guess it's fake though... 😋

Mine is:
Homemade dough with a three-day cold rise in the refrigerator
Homemade pizza sauce made with tomato sauce from my garden tomatoes
Then topped with:
Pepperoni
Hot Italian Sausage
Smoked Ham
Red and Green Bell Pepper
Onion
Mushrooms
Ripe Olives
A mixture of grated Mozzarella, Provolone, and Parmesan cheese

Oh man that looks amazing!!!

I will never understand the hate pineapple gets for pizza. Especially paired with good pepperoni and maybe banana peppers. I think pizza is like beer for folks: there are those that consider Reinheitsgebot sacred, then people that are all about the pumpkin latte milk stout (or insert any other delicious bastardized beer flavor).

The only right answer is what you like, just dont make me eat your white sauce mushroom, onion, banana pizza with a side of salted caramel peanut butter QIPA and we’ll be fine.

what do you consider real vs fake pizza toppings:

real: peperoni, mushroom, peppers and onions, white , unfortunately although no-one really likes em . anchovies are a real topping. , meatball if you must, i may have forgotten others.

fake : any type of pasta, HAM and PINAPPLE, ceasars salad - wtf, phily cheesesteak pizza - no. and that thing they call vegetable pizza which is really just when someone drags your slice through the garden. chicken unfortunately is not a real pizza topping. i think rays in the city is responsible for a lot of these mistakes. oh i almost forgot . bacon which is the greatest food of all time does NOT belong on a pizza. its prolly the only thing that bacon shouldn't be on. i guess at the most pancetta or guanciale. but only if you are in italy.

what do you consider legit vs BS pizza toppings. sorry work is killing me again today.
The toppings are just a flourish; the pizza should stand alone without them. For the most part I agree with your list, except you left out Italian sausage (which I don't really like but it's real) and salami. Fresh tomatoes in season and fresh basil are good too.

Strawberries definitely do not belong on pizza. Just, no. It's a waste of good strawberries and will ruin the pizza. I can't say this enough.

My favorite pizzas are pepperoni (not too much!) and fresh jalapenos, and salami. Pickled jalapenos are a poor substitute for fresh but I guess they are better than nothing. Wife really likes sausage and mushroom.

Just messing with ya. Not going to yuck your yum.

That said, I think spicy salami and bleu cheese makes sense to me... The pineapple in that combo doesn't. But I guess I looked it up on google, and you're not the only weirdo who does it.
I know :D that's why just the back and forth.
It's a pretty common combo over here in Finland, but we're still better than our neighbours in sweden with their banana pizzas

My go to is always some variation of salami/pepperoni. Ideally as many different kinds in one pizza as possible.

Spinach with crushed garlic and a hint lemon juice is great if you get all the water out.

My wife loves a Hawaiian but I'm not a fan.

I don't especially like onions on pizza, but couldn't tell you why.

In Rome I had a variation of a Neapolitan which was made with Oak smoked scamorza instead of buffalo mozzarella. That was great.

Tender stem broccoli and n'duja is better than it has any right to be and is a regular feature in my wood fired Ooni.

However the most delicious and simultaneously wrong-est pizza I ever had was in Tampere in Finland. Fajita marinaded chicken with chorizo, habanero peppers and cactus slices. Like a Hawaiian for people who aren't criminally insane.

Pizza is pizza, so why should it be?
You and I should get along so awfully
Pizza is pizza,, so why should it be?
You and I should get along so awfully

So, we’ve different toppings, and we’ve different creeds
And different people have different needs
It's obvious you hate fish, though, they’ve done nothing wrong
I've never had anchovies, so, what could they have done?

I can’t understand
What makes a man
Hate another’s dish
Help me understand

Pizza is pizza, so why should it be?
You and I should get along so awfully
Pizza is pizza,, so why should it be?
You and I should get along so awfully

And now you're throwing on canned mushrooms, and you're shouting at me
I'm relying on your common decency
In the fridge we have fresh mushrooms, not from a can
It just takes a while to slice and throw them on the pan

I can’t understand
What makes a man
Hate another’s dish
Help me understand

…..etc.

Someone needs to go back to pizza school.

Maybe those are prank orders that never got picked up? Or it's a money laundry op and they don't want people actually buying the stuff.
