That model and color were my first Benz. Drove them for over 25 years as my company cars. Great vehicles

Pretty nice for a company car,... then again, won't ever leave you on the side of the road, especially when new. Must have been a high end business.

I think this one was in Massachusetts mostly, which is why the rust free condition is even less common. I have had a few of these, including the '83 I currently have registered, this new one is the only one I won't have to do body work, paint., etc.

Problably the last one of these I'll buy, if it was any nicer, I might not want to drive it.

An old rust free car on a New England island would be exceptional. Landlubber cars away from the coast only have to deal with salt for ~5 months of the year...

Cheers!

posted this here (& instagram) back in mid-December & the winery asked if they could use my pic

"Lighting of the Vines" @ 530pm every day during the holidays at Bluemont Winery, Bluemont, VA

Nice view of the valley & I believe that glow on the horizon is Poolesville, VA.

The BigHair thought they were going to light them on fire. "No, Sweetie... that would be called 'Torching of the Vines'!"

I said yes, & they used it

Just got this, 1985 300D, yet another vehicle I need like a hole in the head, but price was good. This car is one owner, always garaged and rust free. View attachment 7127991

cars of this vintage remind me why I’m doing yoga so I can get limber enough to kick myself in the ass for not buying a 1975 Ford Bronco in decent condition when I had the chance a few years ago for under 15k

You should not sweat it, that almost gets me thinking of vehicles I've had & sold I wished I had now,,, not really productive. Besides, almost anything you want is out there somewhere. Unless it is an original NAPCO factory rigged Studebaker 4x4 truck, (there were reportedly only a few hundred(heard numbers low as 53) ever sold domesticaly, and I owed two of them, including a super rare 1 ton pickup w nine foot bed (E-13D)?, or something like that. I did not know they were rare until I sold, by the way, pre internet. Maybe I should not dwell on the 66 Malabu convert either,,,,,dooohhh

Anyway, most of Ford's vehicles in that era had early, non optimal recycled sheet metal, rust nodules rolled & cast right in. My guess is any clean '75 Bronco either spent whole life in a garage, a desert, or is stuffed w bondo or, if well done, (but short lived) MIGed in body panels.

I bought one of these in 1969, for $50, to use as a parts car. It was white, like the one in the picture, with a red interior. The body was perfect, the front seat had one small tear in it. It needed a new top

I pulled the 389 engine to put in a 64 Tempest to build my own GTO, and sold enough other parts to get my $50 back.

I try not to think about it too much. 😢

Simply gorgeous.

As for Goats, in my yute I had the convertible version of this black-on-black bucket seat '67 with the 454 and Hurst 4 speed.
Mine wasn't quite as cherry as this one but everyone dug the hole shots and epic "mosquito control" :D

Down side: wicked short rear end. I could dump the clutch and literally get the front tires off the ground, but at 60 mph she guzzled gas at 11 mpg.
Also, numb steering. Not that it mattered - no way could you carry straight-line speed through any decent corner :D
And then 1973 and the "gas shortage" hit. Not great timing when you could burn a quarter tank of gas waiting in line for a fill-up :(

Still loved driving it, but eventually gave it to a friend - and bought a Datsun 280Z for something completely different :)

Cheers!

I had a '70 LeMans I sold when it started to rust, way before I had a shop. Not as good looking as the most of the '60s Pontiacs, but one of the best performing open road cruisers I ever owned. Not a Goat, but still 255HP and great handling. Was semi amused when I saw it driving around, rattle canned flat black w GTO badges glued on it.

Yikes! Evidently everyone in Hillsborough Oregon is going to die shortly

No - wait - 20 minutes later they revised their forecast. Now everyone is gonna turn into popsicles...

Pretty sure I'd find another weather station at this point :D
I live just outside of Hillsboro, I can confirm it was crazy weather. By the time I got my swim trunks on the pool had froze over
