Why not just tell him to go **** off on FB?

Jeppe loves putting people who are mean to him on the internet on blast, and I don’t feel like having him and his group of ******* followers messaging me/making it into a meme/profile picture/whatever he loves to do when people say anything bad about him on the internet. I did think about replying, but really didn’t feel like spending the rest of my night in an argument with him that would go nowhere

well is he wrong? or just a petty bitch?

I’m sure he’s technically right about the licensing or whatever, but he’s clearly doing this as a way to just be a ********* to his brother. In the past, someone reviewed a beer poorly on untappd and said they got diacetyl, but misspelled diacetyl. Should they know how to spell it? Sure, if they’re gonna call him out for it. Does he need to be put on blast and be made into 15 memes because he didn’t like one of their beers? Eh, probably a bit much. There are like 300 other stories like this (he had his old bar himmeriget put up a post shitting on bokkereyder and quoting an incorrect article calling it not real lambic seemingly because he had no access to it, but his brothers bar did)

And to your second question: you never need to tell them apart, since they’ll most likely never be in the same room together ;)

Jeppe’s bigger. And comes across as American — swaggery, cocky. Mikkel’s super-European in person. Quiet, reserved.

I don’t like many beers either makes, but the output of Mikkeller SD is much superior to anything Evil Twin does.

Well if this isn’t some of the pettiest **** I’ve ever seen. Foreal, go **** yourself jeppe.

Thanks for pointing this out raginasian238

If The Mets are making the beer sold by/at Mikkeller NYC, then they should stop "playing baseball" and start making beer full time. Clearly they are far better at one than the other.

Just here to drop an annoyance and go away...So there is a local brewer putting out a couple beers here and there. For my tastes they are amazing. They remind me of Melvin IPAs. Super hop saturated, tropical, low bitterness, very clean, perfect carb so as to be smooth and not prickly. I get pretty excited when I see them.

Anyhow I am bored and having one and was curious what other people think so I looked up some reviews:

"Wow, not much haze. Just okay"

"Not juicy at all. Little on the bitter side"

"Deceptive. No haze, but juicy."

"Malt city. Needs more juice"

"Piney, thin, clear, but kinda tasty?"

It's likely just me but it is getting annoying that to a ton of people any IPA that is clear is "malty, bitter, piney, and thin" and any IPA that is hazy is "juicy, soft, pillowy, and amazing"

It doesn't even matter if the flavor descriptors actually fit the beer they are drinking. They just spew cookie cutter descriptions and beg for the descriptions they want to be saying. All based on nothing but an ocular pat down.

It's annoying as **** but I know what it is.

The east coast ain’t got no love for Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg? The east coast ain’t got no love for Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg and Death Row? Y’all don’t love us? Y’all don’t love us? Well, let it be known then! We know y’all east coast! We know where the **** we at! East coast in the muthafucking house!

Can't we all agree they both suck?

I've really liked a number of Mikkeller beers over the year: American Style, Bourbon Vanilla Shake, Elliot, Spontanlemon, Spontanpassionfruit, Spontanseabuckthorn. Mind you, they have way more mediocre beer than good beer in their giant roster.

So I had a beer can be pretty cool moment tonight. Neighborhood party at one house in our backyard. Great day to drink through the rest of the cans in my fridge. Halfway through the night I head back to the house for a new can in the beer fridge and it dawns on me that a random Plan Bee bottle in my fridge from 4 years ago is called Ellie Ann. My buddy from two doors down and my daughters' friend is named Ellie. I grab the bottle and wander over to gift it to him. The back of the bottle is a long parable about parenthood too. He's completely enthused about it and shows it to his wife who is also excited. I clearly cared so little about it that it spent 4 years in my fridge. That's just awesome. Like it was in my fridge for a reason. I hope the beer is good but I know that it ended up in the right spot either way. Cheers!

Agreed. I have had some Mikkeller beers I really liked over the years though: Bourbon Vanilla Shake, some of the Brunch Weasels/Beer Geek Breakfasts, Swinging Harry, Blondeaux, some George variants. Probably others as well.

I just can't give them any credit for this specifically because of that last sentence. Have they made some good beers? Sure, but they make like 2,000 beers a year. The fact that they only have a dozen or so good ones is damning. That's a really low hit rate...

I'm still utterly baffled by their rise. I blame Europeans.

Yeah, I have a tough time buying beer from breweries that aren’t consistent when there are enough breweries around me that make consistently great to awesome beer. A previous version of myself would wade through a bunch of mediocre beer to get to some good ones but it’s not worth the hassle anymore.

Man, I feel old.

Jeppe's just mad that his Mikkeller NYC adjacent taproom is going to make it all the easier to confirm the obvious, that he's the inferior brother when it comes to brewing.
Aren't they both the inferior brother when it comes to brewing since none of them really ever brew? Having a 5 minute phone call, maybe dumping a few stupid ingredients in and maybe showing up to just pose for pictures on the brew deck doesn't really classify someone as a brewer in my book.

I like Mikkeller. The vast majority of the stuff I've tried has been tasty ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I don't like their prices however.
Agreed, reluctantly.
The first stuff I had access to was very meh. Then slowly I had better. The brother feud turned me off. Seemed staged.
Then I went to CPH and couldn’t escape him/it.
I’m converted. But Koelschip will do that to anyone.

Dropping likes all over tonight.

Had a Lunch tonight which didn't seem to be what it once was, or my tastes have changed. Bottle was 1 month old, so that could be a factor.

Speaking of reluctant loves.... Prairie. Early fanboy then turned away because they got too big and all those ******* glasses.
But I sit here in their brewpub in Tulsa and still digging that Paradise. Hard.
Like Shelton ‘16 all over again.
Wave at 3CG for me on your way out the door.

Thanks fam.

oh snap. nyc gonna be all up in the upstate hizzy now brah.

watch them announce plans to only do farmhouse ales at this spot.

I’d much prefer that and would probably still not go lol. Bet they keep both open. They’d be dumb not too. They did a bunch of can releases up here. What a **** show those were.

Joking aside, I am interested to see what the plans are for this facility. They have a pretty decent capacity in Brooklyn now with their recent expansion and they have, incrementally, taken over much of the commercial space on the block they're on.
I could see this facility as a place where they can brew, at a larger scale, beers like Green City, Forever Ever, All Green Everything, etc and expand their distribution pretty substantially. While also focusing on expanding their repertoire into farmhouses and sours, and a larger barrel program upstate.

I don't see them buying this place just to do the same exact thing as they are in brooklyn. Maybe smaller smaller, less frequent batches of the ever-changing DIPAs that bring out the masses, but not 4 new beers a week, every week.
but what do i know.

you know the brew capacity of this space, BadJustin ?
