Nice man didn't know they were doing cans, I'll touch base once they are released. Thank you.

Yeah they got the canning line up and running last week. They have a couple of test runs to do then its go time. Lots of stuff going into cans. Always glad to help anyone out if they want anything from my area!

Last had Bodhi this past summer. Just didn't do it for me anymore. However, I retract my statement about Columbus IPA. Forgot I had it again when I was in Ohio at the beginning of December and it was pretty good. It was even like 2 months old at that point (had it at a bowling alley). It did go thru a rough patch though.

I remember the days of hazy bodhi . I would agree that the last few times I've had it, it hasn't been the best. I don't drink it very often. Maybe I should find some bottles and check in on it.

Is head Hunter getting canned by summer? That would be awesome

My buddy was brewing for them when they first started making it. I think he named it, actually. My first few Bodhi experiences were from a growler filled straight off the brite tank.

Absolutely, I watched them back-to-back and it was an entertaining and informative 3 hours. Provides a good look into topics like how con artists get to where they are (and the level at which they are basically addicted to it - this idiot ran a ticket scam *while it was out on bail* and had it filmed!) and the superficiality of Instagram "influencer" culture.
Watched the netflix one. Enjoyed it. Does the hulu one have enough new info to make it worth the watch and not feel like a rerun? (Do we get more good dick sucking quotes?)

From everyone’s favorite Pittsburgh thread, a well trusted informant posted the following. Not sure if truth or speculation, but I trust him either way:
They are waiting for Head Hunter growth in bottle to slow in chain accounts. When growth goes under 3-4% they'll bust out the Headhunter cans to increase growth again.

Personally still bumming that they canceled their Charlotte plans. I blame Portland.

Worth the watch. You get more perspective. The best order is Netflix then Hulu because you learn that Billy is not exactly the most reliable source before you hear his side. Also you learn more about the fuckjerry guys from a former employee. They were among the producers of the Netflix one so of course they tried to downplay their own culpability in the whole thing. Also, neither doc goes into how much coke must have been involved to get these guys to actually believe they could have pulled the thing off.

Negra Modelo is generally my preferred beer to drink while I'm in Mexico, but apparently Mexico doesn't agree with me. It's hard to find down here.
I find both Modelo styles to be syrupy, sticky, and undercarbed. The Negra isn't too popular. Bohemia Oscura is better than Negra Modelo and Bohemia Pilsner is even better in my opinion. Victoria's also decent if you need something amber, slightly drier and more bitter than Negra Modelo.

Unfortunately it’s not going to be in cans right now. I did hear they may do some small batch runs of like 16oz four packs of head hunter and other stuff. He said he has some plans to do limited releases in small runs at times.

I just realized I had an entire conversation with another manager with this image on my screen.

Thaaaaaanks?

Well that's ok. They need to drop the six pack price to $9.99 anyway to get in line with everyone else if I can bitch about something :p

This, plus the Hulu one spends a lot more time on the subject of millennial/Instagram culture and the "influencer economy". It also has more details on McFarland's previous scheme, a "black card for millennials" called Magnesis, which ties into that subject and kind of sets the stage for how he would have seen a much large-scale grift like Fyre Festival as feasible.

Agreed! Maybe it’ll happen at some point. Took 3 years of me telling them to put it into six packs until they finally did*.

*i in no way influenced their decision to do this. But I did keep telling them they should

"positivity"

It's making fun of that incredible dumpster fire of a "festival" (really just a scam to commit wire fraud) called Fyre Fest, that flamed out in spectacular fashion basically live on Twitter in April 2017. It was the brain child of con artist grifter Billy McFarland and washed-up hip-hop "superstar" Ja Rule, which should basically tell you everything you need to know about its chances of actually being successful. There's two well-received documentaries about it right now on Netflix and Hulu respectively. One of the earliest promotional gimmicks they used was having a bunch of Instagram celebs all simultaneously post pics of an orange square that linked to the Fyre Festival website, which is what Veil's mocking.

The “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” guy?

Bohemia any easier to find? Sort of like it for some reason.

Hmm, I've never going negra to be syrupy or sticky and I don't like the especial. I'm pretty sure I've seen the bohemian so I'll have to check that out.

Little late on this, but Sierra Nevada Brut IPA was my first and last of the style. What a terrible trend.

Hopslam was better in bottles than cans and still tastes pretty good 3+ years old (friend gave me a bunch of old bottles he found and they're actually drinkable!). The cans don't hold up as well for whatever reason, but are still great fresh.

I’m kind of an aged ipa aficionado and Hopslam is high up on the list of ipas that are still good with a year plus on them. For those curious SN Hoptimum and Avery Maharaja are my top 2. I would put Hopslam at third.
