Proper way to dry hoses?

I'm looking for ways to stretch out hoses so they drain properly. Up until now I'm been draining them once after rinsing in cleaner and coiling them up. A bit of liquid ends up condensing and I end up washing it out and cleaning them up at the next use.

How's everyone around here treating tubing after washing?

With the rigid vinyl hosing I used to swing it around and use centrifugal force to get out most of the moisture.

With the silicone hosing I just dangle over a chair to drip dry.

If you're cleaning and sanitizing regularly and, especially, before cold transfers then I don't think there's much to worry about.

I use an air compressor to blow out most of the water. Then I hang them vertical to dry until next brew day.

When I'm swinging that thing above my head like Wonder Woman, flicking droplets across all surfaces within a 10-foot radius, and it's making the woowooshhhh noise (you know the one), I feel like a total badass/idiot.



One other thing, mostly borne of paranoia: if there's any sanitizing solution laying around, I give it a good soak before swinging it around. I figure if there's going to be moisture hanging out deep within the tubing for a long time, might as well start with as much of a scorched-earth as possible. This may be unnecessary.

I'd love to hear if there's a better way, though.

I've seriously thought about hooking up an aquarium pump or something to push air through the tubing and dry it out, but that sounded like a lot of work, and **meh**.

Two alligator clips from Radio Shack crimped to a short piece of flexible wire. Clip one hose to each alligator clip and toss one hose over the shower curtain rod and let them hang straight down. Works for me.

Yep, spin'em around, then I cover the ends with a small piece of foil and hang them over a closet rod.
