Priming with corn sugar?

I’m about to bottle soon and realized I didn’t have enough priming sugar for my whole batch. Will corn sugar work? Will it have the same effect? Is there a different amount I should put in compared to regular priming sugar?

Ok, now I have a question. How much corn sugar / gallon do you use to prime 1 gallon of beer?

Depends on how many volumes of CO2 you want, and the highest temp the beer was during fermentation. Typically less than an ounce (weight, not volume) of sugar per gallon. The max. ferm temp plays a role in the calcs, as it determines how much dissolved CO2 is already in the beer prior to priming. The lower the max. fermentation temp, the more residual CO2 will remain, and thus, less sugar is needed to get the same volumes of carbonation.

There are a number of online priming calculators, this is a good one.
 
I find that 4oz per 5 gallons is the sweet spot for me. Carb level is drinkers preference.
 
How would you measure .4 of a Tablespoon? Rounded or flat across the Tbs? What is the weight in grams of the 2.4 Tbs / gallon?

I always go by weight, and usually in ounces. I use .75 ounce of corn sugar per gallon for lower carbed ales, and 1 ounce of corn sugar per gallon for more spritzy lagers.
 
It's difficult to get the volume right, and there can be big differences between a cup of fluffy corn sugar and a cup of settled corn sugar. Too easy to overcarb if you get it wrong. Invest in a good digital scale. They are not expensive, and you'll find other uses for it, such as cooking, postal weight, etc. This is the model I use and it's very accurate.
