Bottling uncarbonated beer from a Fermzilla (All Rounder) or any other pressure fermenter

Hello,

I´m fairly new to homebrewing and use currently a Brewtech Mini Bucket to ferment in a fridge with Inkbird conrol. Due to the sitze of the fridge a 7gal Brewbucket does not fit, but a Fermzilla Allrounder would fit if Ii flip the stand.

As I have to look at my budget, I would probalby get the Allrouder with the pressure kit and a Kegland beer gun (not a counter pressure filler). I have a soda bottle with CO2 control to use as well.

Can I fill an uncarbonated beer (Hefeweizen) in a (cold) bottle with priming sugar at fermenting temperature (around 18 degress C)? Or does it cause too much foam? How much pressure do I need to put on the Fermzilla to make that work? Is 5 PSI enough?

If I´m in pressure fermenting (e.g. for a Pale Ale or a Lager), can I fill a carbonted beer after cold crash with the Kegland Beer Gun in a bottle without any issue?

Thanks!

Hi, welcome, sorry for the late reply.
I don't pressure ferment, nor use any of those specific brands of equipment. I have filled bottles from a pressurized keg, low pressure will do it with minimum foam.
An uncarbonated beer into a bottle with sugar won't foam much, that's how I always bottled before kegging. I just used room temperature bottles.
Good luck, keep us posted.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Basically the question is if I can ferment under no pressure with a pressure fermenter. Usually the pressure fermenter has no possibility to transfer to bottles from the bottom of the fermenter. I have no decided yet what to do.

It sounds like a good plan... there are those of us who routinely use a modified fermonster (https://www.homebrewtalk.com/thread...lete-closed-transfer-system-for-cheap.680992/) which is not pressure capable at all, but it only takes a few psi to get the flat beer going out the floating diptube. As long as you have a means to connect your soda-bottle of CO2 and it contains enough CO2 to do the job, it sounds to me like a perfect plan.

Yes. You don't have to pressure ferment just because your fermenter is pressure capable.

So yeah, you're right that you would have to use pressure to transfer. Should only take a couple of PSI and foaming shouldn't be a problem. But a standard bottling wand might not deal too well with even a low amount of pressure. Can't say for sure since I've never tried it.

Agree with that too! I was assuming OP referred to this:

Thanks for all the answers. The beer gun from kegland would be the one I would use for transfering the uncarbonated beer.

I will post an update.
