where I can see what is going on. It has been in for 3 weeks ( kit called for two) and I have never seen anything close to this much on the top when I have opened my bucket fermenters ( 9 batches under my belt).

100% perfectly normal krausen. Fermentation is ugly. Kinda like this:

To me, as long as they have pictures these threads are A-OK. Looks totally fine to me. And +100 to sudsmcgee.
