Yep. That's the trade off. Do you wanna spend less and also spend half of your life in your car? If you're cool with that, get up over the county line ASAP.

By moving from the city to Cranberry, my commute went from 2:00-2:15 round trip to a flat :50 round trip. I'm more than okay with that decision. Wife is in sales and spends most of her time in West Virginia and Ohio. Mush easier access to roads for her as well. Quality of life has gone up noticeably for both of us since the move.

It's a good spot for your wife to be in for sure. You come into the city for work? I can't remember.

No. Leetsdale

There we go. If you don't have to commute to the city there are definitely some awesome advantages to live out there. Our commute now is about 20-25 each way, would have been 60+ if we'd moved up to Cranberry. I just didn't want to spend 2+ hours every day in the car.

Well yeah...don't you work in Sewickley though?

For those working in/around the city, it sucks majorly. Had to adjust my schedule so I get in and leave earlier just to avoid the worst of rush hour. Probably takes me 1:30-2:00 round trip...which actually isn't too terrible.

EDIT: Leetsdale, I see...same thing

Ha I have about the same commute as all of you, less taxes, and cheaper housing. :p

Liking this for the Louie CK gif only...might have been the only time ever a girl said yes to him in that show...

EDIT: oh...and....yes, but..........WV o_O :(

Is there seriously never going to be a brewery between the North Side and Zelienople? I can't imagine that this can continue much longer...can it? There are more than just two compass directions to utilize here, folks...
There used to be a Marzoni's on route 8 in hampton back in the day. I wasn't old enough to check it out before it went out of business though. I've been to the one in Altoona and I can see why it wasn't much of a success...

A lot of misinformation there.
BG doesn't bottle. They trained with trillium and/or tree house. Braddock is in the "middle" of Pennsylvania.

My favorite part though is when he says he'd be willing to go out to Braddock to get this beer, and then mentions his wife lives out that way. What?! Where does he live? He's not willing to go out there to see his wife, but he'll make a trip to drink some BG?

Honestly, this guy bugs the hell out of me, but I know he's got a sizable following & it was still a positive review overall.

I've also heard good things about The Abbey on Butler Street.

I might be in that area later tonight if anyone wants to meet for a beer. Anyone but shuggy. Just kidding
Specifically what good things have you heard? Seemed awfully douchey to me. But at least they probably spent an obscene amount of money on the buildout to make it that way. Looks like they probably have pretty good coffee though.

I know this is parsing - how is Bellevue considered North Hills but not Emsworth?

I believe that the borough blocked their permit. To quote McCandless' Chief of Police, Gary Anderson: "Our community cannot, in good conscience, allow a business comprised of known price rapists to prey on our vulnerable citizens. They should put them on some sort of national registry & have their balls cut off & branded. May God have mercy on your souls." * End quote.

*This is 100% true.
MORE QUOTES!

I haven't been there yet but my wife has a few times and loved it. The drinks aren't cheap, but it seems like a quieter type place that you can go to and actually hear the person sitting next to you (i realize how old i sound saying that). Apparently the coffee is good and they have breakfast sandwiches and stuff like that to go in the morning. It appears to be a nice alternative to the rest of the places in the neighborhood that you have to cram into like a can of sardines.

Anyone here have Bell's Oatsmobile yet? The reviews have been subpar, but nowadays any Pale Ale that isn't dry hopped with 10,567 lbs of hops per barrel will not get very good ratings. Especially since this was made with Oats, I assume people are thinking it'll be a Hoof Hearted yeast milkshake.

Sometimes, I don't want a pale that is like drinking hop water. Union Duckpin, for example, is my jam. I love that beer. Grabbed a sixer of Oatsmobile hoping it'll at least be "solid."
