Hello out there!

I'm just starting the journey of fermenting my own alcoholic drinks. So far, it has been fun and rewarding, and I hope that eventually it will be cost effective!

So far, I have made a Sauvignon Blanc from a kit, blackberry wine, grape wine, and a spiced ginger beer. My friend has hop bines, so I expect brewing beer beer is coming soon, but the equipment is a little more involved. My favourite beers are the varied and flavourful varieties found in Belgium, but I'll generally drink anything.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

David

Welcome to the forum from a Texas Brewer. Been along time since I've been in Belgium. I was tracing my late fathers steps in WWII which led me to Belgium (he was at the battle of the bulge- armored division). I liked the Belgian folks, they were real nice to me. I owe them.

Beer is easy, a large soup kettle, 2 plastic buckets a big spoon and an airlock and you are on the beer brewing highway.

Welcome from the Niagara Region of Ontario!

Edit: If you've got a big pot at home, and maybe an accurate thermometer, you're on your way with the equipment you have now. Good luck!

Thanks for the warm welcome, and the encouragement to brew beer! Hopefully my wife is as excited as I am to turn our house into a little brewery. I'll report back if I get anywhere!

That is awesome! My wife doesn't drink beer... She's mildly supportive of my new hobby, but hates the mess on brew day.
We were at a friend's house last night for dinner, and they were amazed at how my wife drinks anything: beer, wine, Scotch, whiskey, etc.

I'm sure she'll hate the news on brew day just as much, so I aim to keep it clean
