Rotel tomatoes and velveta cheese. So terrible but so good.

Add some hormel chili to the pot and you'd be surprised how simultaneously amazing and terrible it is. :mug:

Wings! Oven or fry daddy, whatever dry rub I have in the cupboard, and almost exclusively the grocery store "party wings" that are already separated, no tips.

Chips & salsa.

Those frozen burritos or chimichangas that come in packs of 8 or 10.

French fries; man I LOVE french fries! And Tater Tots! Doesn't matter if you get them at a drive thru or make in the oven at home; I've made meals of fries and/or tots.

Frito pie.

Egg rolls/spring rolls; take-out is best, frozen is tasty too & easy, but home made is always exactly what I want, though it takes some time & prep.

Years ago it was virtually anything at the Jack in the box drive thru, they were the only place open at 02:00.

Fish sticks.

Cold peel & eat shrimp.

Leftover Asian food.

Leftover holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc...) feast food.
Regards, GF.

Mmmmm... I'll have a Colossal Fish, please.

Stovetop Popcorn. Little bit of oil in the bottom of a pan, plus kernels (none of that microwave crap for me). Real butter and salt, quick turn or two of fresh ground black pepper.

Yes. We just picked up a Whirley Pop and I've been using it regularly. I use the Orville Redenbacher butter flavored popping oil though. A little for popping with, a little more for the butter flavor on the popcorn, a bit of salt. Perfect every time.

Also worth trying: coconut oil for popping.

I keep meaning to try the stovetop popcorn with bacon fat instead of oil. That can't suck.

I have made popcorn with bacon grease. It is great. You can't use all bacon grease it burns to easy mix half with oil of choice.

Not really a junk food but, when my MIL was a live-in she would make a large batch of 'Rendang' specifically for me, and another smaller batch so that everyone else could have some too.

What is this Rendang you speak of?

Add light misting of Cayenne pepper, add to paper bag, give a good shake.
Boom! :mug:

It's a Indo/Malay kind of stew but it's cooked down to the point that the "stew base" becomes a paste. We usually did beef but have done chicken too. Pork is possible but beinga recipe from an Islamic culture it will have to be adapted on teh fly to taste.

Tumeric, Galangal (Ginger), roasted dried coconut flakes (acts as a thickener and flavoring), shallots, garlic, lemongrass, pandan leaves, LOTS of coconut milk (5 cans per 15lbs of beef) for braising the meats, palm sugar, kaffir lime leaves, and lime.

Lots of recipes avilable online. Look for ones originating from either an Indonesian or Malay cook for the most authenticity. Takes a couple days to make from start to finish.

That sounds so awesome, I might just have to try making it.

I forgot to mention Lamb. Lamb rendang is amazing!

Serve it with Pratha or Naan (unleavened bread). Peel off chunks of the bread and use it to snatch up the chunks of meat. Side dish of rice is fine but, you won't need it.

I will admit I popped up a batch of this last night. I may have used more oil than normal (I put too much bacon fat in and a quick dab of veggie oil) and popped it up. It ended up a little greasy but amazing. I know how I am making popcorn from here on out.

me & my brothers used to get all hammered up and walk through the Hardee's drive through for Thickburgers and fries. the one on the left once wasted one on some frat boy's clean laundry. those frat boys used come into our bar and try to hassle us punks and skins and talk down to us. there were a few fights & we raided their house a few times.

wait... what were we talking about?

I saw the movie that pic was from, Minnie Driver was hot in that one.

I'm pretty sure it junk: sausage and berries, long john and doughnut holes, creamcicle and dipn' dots, chocolate covered bananas.

I love sausage and berries! Especially if there's a creamcicle for desert... or a push-up.

P.S. I think your Mom is cool.

Pig out food? The huge pot of chili we made yesterday with salsa conqueso & sour cream. With some beers & vodka. This morning smells like creeping death, however...:drunk:

You & your brother on the left are drinking McEwan's Scotch Ale! :mug: You know, they started brewing & importing it again? It's not quite the same to my remembered taste, but still pretty tasty; I have a case in the beer closet.

I used to walk through the Hardee's drive thru too, though that was cuz they were the only place open & only the drive thru was open & they were right across the street from work. I miss their hot ham & cheese sandwich. 2 or 3 of those with a lg order of fries was some great pig-out food!
Regards, GF.

as with a lot of beers (including Pete's ), I used to drink the hell out of McEwen's. I was wondering why I hadn't seen it around in years.

one night we got in a brawl with some wannabe gangsta thugs in the drive through. they kept honking and telling us to move while we were ordering. the only thing I remember clearly is setting down the 2 cases of PBR bottles I was carrying, head butting a sign post (still don't know why), and punching the driver in the mouth while I tried to pull him out the window. really stupid since the cop shop was only a block away and a clear view of the drive through. and only one in our group got to order.

Ha. I "watched" a lot of **** like that go down. Crazy skineads' doin crazy ****.

Confederate Hammer Skins they called themselves.

Sorry, I didnt read all 8 pages of this thread so if someone else already mentioned this then I apologize, but for me if you go to McDonalds and get some McDoubles and McChickens, You open the McDouble and put the McChicken between the two patties of the McDouble. I'm sure some of you are aware of this, and I have heard many different names for this concoction, but I call it the McGangBang. Soooooo good especially when you experiment with the other burgers McDonalds offers like the buffalo ranch mcchicken, etc.

My nights at the drive thru were considerably more sedate, tho still...
Interesting at times. :D

I never been one of them. "skinhead" is a very diverse group who most of which don't (or won't) see eye to eye on many topics and ideas. the subculture holds too many sub-genres. trads, Oi! Boys, SHARPs, Nazi's, just plain racist, non-political, blah blah blah. somewhat the same-ish way with punk rock. I am and am not a punk and/or a skin. I refuse to claim either way.

back on topic, I can decimate a stack of waffles with lots of butter and blueberry syrup. add bacon and scrambled eggs to make it even better.

Sushi. Every time I eat sushi, I pig-out. About twice a year, some sushi loving friends & I get together & have a sushi night. We'll each start with something we consider an appetizer, for me this would usually be an order of ikura and/or unagi.

Then we each get a platter of 40 assorted nigiri & rolls. Often we'll each order an additional roll or some sashimi to be shared with everyone so we can all try something new/different. All this comes with tofu miso soup & a cucumber salad. All washed down with copious amounts of tea, beer & wine. We don't just eat, we feed; like a pride of lions on a cape buffalo. I really LOVE sushi!
Regards, GF.

Drunk its quesadilla. Not even a good one, just cheese on a tortilla and nuked for a minute. Salsa may or may not get involved.

Now, just food I'll pig out on. Green Chili. My wife has to make double batches, because I'll eat it on everything until its gone. Burgers, burritos, eggs, grilled cheese, hot dogs, biscuits, etc....
