I've got a few things identified. Plus, Nov 1 is my birthday, hopefully I'll luck out and be on the receiving end too!

Will there be any rules? I suggest that no one person monopolizes everything by putting their name in for everything. If you get something in one post, you should have to let others have a chance to get stuff from other posts.

From what I read in last year's thread, I think one of the rules was 1 item per person. I could be mistaken though.

Yes, you can claim one item, unless the donator says the items they have must go together. If an item remains unclaimed, then it can be claimed by someone who has already taken an item (but let's give people a week or so- not everybody is on HBT endlessly like me!).

The "giver" can ask for shipping costs to be paid, especially for large items. Most won't though!

The donator can specify if they want their items to go to different people, or if one person is ok. Like if someone has three tap handles, they may specify that it can go to one person.

What a cool idea. I may have some things to offer as well. Love the chance to help others grow in the craft, and be helped if the case may be.

Hey just to put it out there - I get great shipping rates through my job.
If anyone needs to ship something heavy for this event I would be willing to generate the shipping label and email it to them providing they paid me back on pay pal.
I get around 50% off UPS ground so let me know if I can help with the heavy stuff.
Maybe since I don't have a lot of gear I can cover shipping for someone as my pay it forward contribution. :)

Homer, I just sent you a 55# sack of wet two row. 8am Priority for tomorrow. Postage due, Hope you don't mind.

I'll definitely have a few things to add to the list.

Never made it. I waited a few extra days just to be sure it didn't get lost on the way. Hmm.... I hope they didn't leave it on the truck and forget about it. I bet the Post Office took it and brewed beer with it! Bastards!

I have yet to brew my first batch, but I'll take an inventory of the parts I'm slowly accumulating and see if just maybe there is something I can part with.

This is an awesome idea. I love the community here. :mug:

Maybe LGI can also take a look where he has been nosing about.

(sorry, I know this probably does not belong in such a well meaning thread, but the 2 threads came up together under new posts and well, you know, that was the image that popped into my mind after reading mmb's reply - just thought I'd share.)

Hey Yooper, I kind of kept an eye on things last year but I think that its probably a good idea for a mod to do it this year.

You may want to review the thread last year, as I recalled we had a few snags. I think the main things were making sure that one person is not claiming a bunch of things and getting people to say when things are gone and who it is going to. I don't know exactly how to avoid those this year, but just wanted to give you a heads up and maybe with your mod super powers you will be able to keep everyone in line. :rockin:

Damn, I just sold some stuff uber cheap locally that I would have given away to a homebrewer. Gotta dig around and see if any more random items pop up.

I think a picture you and the newly acquired item is required!

Cheers to tmoney1224 for last years idea!

Yes! To both. Get the item, and post a picture. It's always nice to "see" each other. And I don't mind helping out to ensure smoothness, tmoney, if you think it's needed. I have way too much time on my hands, so I might as well be useful.

At least for the first part of it, really just to make sure that everyone is understanding the rules. I think if you did it you may whip them into shape earlier than I could. :D

Are we starting this yet? I have some things that would like a new home.
